So I would suggest an app for the cellphone, where a player can manage their carriers and ships. To set their carriers to jump from one system to another, or to modify their ships straight from the app.
Now, for the capital ship suggestion:
I would suggest them behind some crazy grind requirement, like only being alligned to 1 faction, but then letting the player have access to a Farragut or Majestic-Class Capital ship.
The capital ship should have a metric ton of micromanagements, such as orders to get supplies from stations or planets, orders to repair and maintain every aspect of it, crewing and whatnot, all being manageable from an app on the phone as well as from the platform itself; I work an eight to five job with some breaks and I wouldn't mind managing while at work.
