Please add a way to trade with certain players!

I would really like it if there was a way to trade with only certain players....Mainly because I had to inbreed my Albino Peafowl which I really hated for many reasons. I got my Albino by chance through trading bcuz the icon in the market was a normal Peafowl and the chances of finding another without it having the correct icon are probably 1%. So I had no choice but to inbreed to get more of them. I really wanna get rid of the inbreeding but without the correct icons or even the ability to trade with a specific player I can't do that. Surprisingly out of 4 Albino babies one of them had the best stats. The other 3 had 0% Immunity understandably.

I have to disagree with this suggestion. This isn't the type of game that needs 'clans' forming. The open market is a fair way to give all players an equal opportunity to purchase animals on the market. Some players don't have friends that play this game and by implementing a way for players to trade with certain players puts some at a disadvantage.

Hmm...I guess I didn't think of it that way. 🤔 I guess the only option would be to fix those damn icons on the Market if they're Albino. 😑

I think a better solution to the overall problem is, as I suggested before, allow you to both "favorite" and "block" specific zoos, and be able to filter your lists by those. Then if you have a zoo you know always puts crap on the market (a lot of them) you can filter those out and if you have a zoo you like, you can make sure to see them easier.

I think this will also build more of a community of zoos rather than just a clique of friends. And that's my point of view as someone who has no friends :)

At the very least I wish you could at least thank a zoo after buying an animal, and the player would get a notification "you got thanked for 'animal name here'" or something.

I managed to get 3 female red ruffed lemurs today for a reasonable price (when the others are all ridiculously overpriced) from the same person and I really wished I could have sent them a thank you for doing that.

This would be so nice!!! I would love to get a notifcation from the person who buys my pets, it would be even nicer to see a personalized message so you know your dear animals will be in good hands.

If you are searching for unrelated white Peafowl I can sell one. They really need to fix the Icons in the Market. Send a pm if you are interested

This.

Completely agree. This would leave the door open for whole kinds of shady trades as well, select breeding clans or whatever, RMTs, whatever. The market needs to stay open, to give everyone an equal chance. There should, however, be a way to favourite some Zoos (i.e. the ones that don't sell inbred animals at outrageous prices) to see them more clearly in listings, as well as a way to push some zoos down our list (I wouldn't hide them entirely, but some I would like to see the very last, because they have a tendency to put 0% genetics animals on the market). This would be even more helpful since the market tends to be super slow, so having to click and wait for the stats on yet another "bad" animal is frustrating.

I would LOVE this! Whenever I see fairly priced animals I make a mental note of the Zoo in question, hoping someday we can favourite certains franchises. Being able to send a thank-you note would be awesome. So that the people buying them can express their thanks, and so that the people being fair would know that their efforts do not go unnoticed.
I am however scared that the "writing a note" part might not be possible, it could end up in people sending mean things to zoos that aren't so nice, and I don't think FDev would want that... Maybe a "thanks" button or something inspired by the waving at visiting avatars (but with a feedback on the other person's side as well)..?

Awww you might be right, but the thank you button would be a lovely addition!!
Chats work perfectly fine in other games. So instead of notes, we could have a general chat where we could ask each other for instant advice instead venting it all on this forum. I think that makes a whole lot of people happy.

Unkind people will always be there, but a thick skin helps. ;-)

Could have it where there is a small note on the animals info panel (either while it's in the market/after you've bought it or both)....Instead of writing it yourself, to prevent people being rude just give them a selection of nice things to say. Example:
"Thank you so much!"
"I will take good care of them!"
"Great price! Thank You!"
"Please take care of them!"
"I will miss them!"
😅

Yes. But we are talking about a planet game. Where we can't send our guests to be eaten by wolves.
Children will play this. I cannot and will not expect a child to be "helped" by a "thick skin".
EDIT: It's currently rated ages 3+.

There should be no need of it in this kind of game.

(I'm kinda touchy about this because I have discovered the joys of computer games with the first Zoo Tycoon as a kid, and I can't imagine what would have happened had I encountered toxicity within that game back then. Adding online chat and such opens the door to the game's rating changing, or would have to be heavily filtered and such. It is not good IMO)

Hm yes I agree a chat and the note I suggested might be a bad idea for this reason, when I was a child I had bad experiences with toxic people in other games ruining the game experience for me and ultimately making me quit (not because I took things personally but because I'm a positive person and negativity bothers me a lot).
Liking KaoRu's suggestion though, this seems lovely. :giggle:
