I'm not looking for anyone to explain something that may have been explained a million times before - I'm new to the worlds of ED. I've seen some killer YT videos of some awesome sim rigs. I have one currently built for racing. I'm in the process of building it to do both racing and ED. In these videos I see ppl who program it up so the displays so you awesome custom stuff. So far, I've been able to figure out it has something to do with the log files? I've been searching and the only stuff I'm finding is stuff that seems to be meant for those that already know what they are doing.
Are there any primers out there I can read/study? I just need help moving in the right direction.
What am I looking to do? As examples, lights that light up red in my rig when the landing gear is down, green when up (or any color combo), or my lights are on. Displays that show me certain information. Switches that when I hit them tell my ship this, that, and the other thing. So far, I see Arduino boards (or similar things) are used...AutoHotKey (VRod is helping me to under stand AHK). I just don't know "where to start".
I've found the ED Codex place, and seems like something that I would want to use - but that's one of the places that seems to be setup for those that already know what they are doing.
Any help/direction pointing would be great. My Google-Fu is letting me down
