That being said, unless we do get an actual Adder later on, what's the point of a different name? Should Elite really have no Adder at all, even if what we got looks a little weird?
My perspective is that for people like myself, who know the adder from previous games, this one will be a little irritation. Each time I see one, a part of my brain will think "that's not an adder, I don't care what it says".
Changing the name removes that little niggle, and people who are not familiar with the old games won't really care either way, as they don't know the ship, or name.
The way I see it, because it looks different to the adder, calling it an adder makes the game a little worse for people who do know the adder, and no difference for people who don't.
Calling it something else is the same for people who don't know the adder, and also not bad for people who do know it.
It's not win-win, but it's win-neutral to change the name.
If anyone out there is voting no can they please explain why? What does it harm? Why do you want it to be the adder, when it looks so different to the older adder. So we have
any adder, even if it's not true to the original?
