Please DO NOT create any more Elite games in the future.

I get irritated with the direction the game takes at times, but why would you want to stop a talented group of game developers from making another Elite game? There aren't enough games like Elite: Dangerous out there.

More to the point why does the OP think they have the right to tell people in employment by someone else what their bosses want them to do or not to do. (Are they some loser who got turned down for a job at FD or are they just another one of the forum's whingers with a misplaced sense of entitlement... again?)

What is this...rage week? Oh yes, Beta is coming so every player who hates the game will be posting versus hundreds of thousands who love it and don't post. Typical Pre-Beta week.

You got that right. All the babies are coming out of the woodwork again because new content means the threat that they won't get their bottle....waaaaaaaa, waaaaaaaaa!

OP should have read:

"Here I come!"

- Wake scan mats
- USS exlusive mats
- Combat mats that disrupt gameplay
- Basically all data
The list goes on and on...

With credits becoming more available - which is good, btw, because spending 100 hours to get a ship is a bit ludicruous - it seems frontier have shifted the mindless, stupid grind elsewhere - to mats. I just want to play the game darn it, not sit in normal space/supercruise waiting for mat locations to spawn to maybe while having 99% of my time being wasted doing things nobody really likes doing (be it actually picking up the mats when you just want to shoot, or just having nothing to do but wait while not even travelling somehwere).

Quite exasperating, to say the least.

Edit: though the op's point is a bit weird and makes zero sense (understatement)

Well, OP may have his wish at least for the next 10 to 15 years where Frontier will continue to be dedicated to improve and realize the stretch goals of ED as they realistically can, and the game builds a good long history like FSX and Eve.

I'd most likely buy a sequel to ED. The way I figure it, they'll have learned that P2P isn't a good idea. Other than that, FD has done pretty well. A future release will most certainly have even better graphics, sound and flight system. By that time, 64 bit computing will have been as quaint as 16 bit is now.

But the current release isn't finished yet. It's good and getting better. I'm looking forward to playing a future Elite game in my holodeck.

It would be interesting to see how a different designer would envision the Elite franchise. I like ED, I think it's got a lot going for it & it's my kind of game, but that doesn't necessarily mean it works for everyone.

The comparison I'm making in my mind is the 1990's 'Judge Dredd' film, which I thought was awesome at the time, vs the more recent 'Dredd' film that is one of my favourite re-watchable films of recent years. Both great films (although the Stallone one hasn't aged very well) but for very different reasons & probably aimed at different audiences.

I just feel this needs to be said. You all have no concept of rewarding the time that your player base spends in the game. You have largely ignored the most requested features and the only time your company takes action is to nerf player progression or mission payouts. You will do anything to protect the status quo of excessive grinding in this "game". As if people have not discovered that your "game" has no meaningful content.

Frontier Games has no understanding of what it means to create an actual game. You have no understanding of player enjoyment, you have no understanding of reward mechanisms, etc. Tedium, stress, excessive repetition and RNG etc are not what people play games for. You lie in your own updates about mechanics working as intended, put as intended in your eyes really only equates to "as slow as possible" "We have no content but need to show our shareholders that gamers spent hours within our environment." "Even if the time spent has not been enjoyable."

Two years is enough.. I am tired of feeling punished for trying to enjoy what little your "game" offers. You have sold your game on false advertising. The preview videos for ED contain no trucking, no repetition, no RNG, no mindless hours searching USSs and planetoids for exceedingly rare materials etc. Your videos falsely advertise the real experience of ED. Your supposed game is the embodiment of frustration. It is obvious your developers do not play this "game".

Please do not make any more continuations to the Elite series. Thank you.

I just wish FDev was less half-***ed about their work in ED. I mean, it sometimes seems like so much of what they add to the game they have to take it out and re-do it. Why is that?

Amen brother. PS4 people agree with you

No way, after all those Star Trek episodes of of the holodeck going rogue, I won't set foot in one! :p

But seriously, eliminating P2P would be incredible.

All the OP and certain replies prove to me is something many of us knew from the start - this game was never going to appeal to everyone. To the OP, move on.

Eh, that's a copout answer though. A game can be great yet still not appeal to everyone, just as a game can be terrible and also not appeal to everyone. Normally though, a good game will leave players satisfied while a bad game leaves them disappointed or angry. Even a bad game which respects it's players time and efforts can garner accolades despite its shortcomings. On the other hand, a beautiful game that disrespects it's players time can leave people with a sense of bitterness or resentment.

ED does an awful lot of things very right, yet it keeps doing the same things wrong too. Mainly, failing to respect it's players time and efforts. Put another way, insisting on implementing grinding as gameplay.

A certain amount of grinding can be a useful tool in game design, but too much grind can push players away completely. Couple this with disrespectful behavior towards the players and the problem becomes compounded.

How many people feel that the large grade grind wall coming in 3.0 is a positive thing? Is anyone happy that bulk pax missions are now suddenly completely worthless? Is anyone overjoyed that the galaxy was awash in beige for over an entire year? Does anyone feel that the Feedback Forums were successful? Who really enjoys being scan rammed by NPCs? How long did the skimmer rain of death last in the game? Who truly feels that the multicrew payout nerfs made the game better in anyway? Who is really glad that fun and exciting long range smuggling missions are gone? Who enjoys grinding for naval rank? Who thinks the engineers weren't already grindy enough?

ED does a lot of things well, but respecting the players time and efforts is not one of those things.

I'm a PS4 player and I do not agree with TC at all.

Elite: Dangerous is one of the best games ever made, a more than solid continuation of the series, and is certainly worthy of a sequel.

Frontier has some of the most talented art and sound people in the industry in my opinion. And they do pretty good AI too.

You are right. They are great at that. Except they don’t seem to have any talent in solutioning or understanding player needs. Developers and artists are not Solution Engineers.

This is is like having the world’s best carpenter on staff. He might do the most beautiful finishes and elbow joints you’ve ever seen. It doesn’t mean he has any idea how to architecturally design a house.

OP, PLEASE show me a better space game out right now.... I'll wait... there are none. So walk away from your keyboard and come back when you have cooled off.

How about this one. Not as pretty, but it's a better game.
