Please FD, just roll it back. We can all wait for it to be ready...

Really?
Are you certain of that?

How wrong you are...

I should retort that you dislike anyone who doesn't do PvP in ED because you consider them inferior then?
Kinda proves the point, doesn't it? You're just putting words in my mouth so you have something to complain about, because I'm a PvPer.

I have lived on both sides of the fence here.. for years i used to lead large groups in PVP... a core 8 man group in DAoC and up to 150 other players that followed in mass. I did this for years. But lately... i play solo and have ZERO interest AT THIS TIME in either PVP or even significant social interaction... though that too may come back one day

people change and move in and out of things for many reasons. neither is wrong... solo is relaxing, pvp is more for the young IMO.... meaning under 40 imo. Although, i cam considering finding some on foot combat with my sons on the open server... we shall see.
I'm 44. What's your cmdr name?

Horses for courses of course! But you must've had some terrible opponents if you found it boring becuase it's heart-pounding mayhem at the sharper end.. heck even at the blunt end. I remember one of the first times i had a fight with my friend in badly engineered sidewinders! it was a blast and we were shouting and sweating and having a whale of a time.. you may hate it or not like and that's cool because we are all different animals but i find it incredulous that you were bored.. that's almost impossible in PvP
Even in stock sidewinders playing against a couple of friends I found it tedious - maybe because I am better at a FPS shooter than ship-shooting, because the FPS is fun for me.

The skill shown in the PvP videos is way beyond my own (although I'm improving, very slowly, in FA-Off) and I can appreciate the fun being had by the players, playing the game as they wish. (does that sound prejudicial?)

I do dislike another person suggesting I have a hate for PvP players in general... That is strange 🤷‍♂️

Well anytime you wanna practice FA off or even PvP lemme know.. I'm happy to help!

Disclaimer, to avoid arrogant people thinking that I am trying to speak for them by inserting themselves into every 'we' ever. 'We' in this case, is my squad, most people who frequent my discord (about 200 skilled, active players), everyone I know who plays BGS to any decent level, and a whole bunch of random people I've discussed it with. Every 'we' does not have to cover every population, otherwise every statement of 'we' ever made would by necessity include the whole human race.
Why would a roll back only affect an isolated group of people? It doesn't matter if you want to speak for everybody or not, you're trying to decide for everyone.

Do I have to defend my enjoying Odyssey?
You're moving the goalposts. No you don't have to defend your enjoyment of odyssey, you do have to defend that your enjoyment is worth more than a majority of others who find it unacceptable. And it is a majority, a huge one. So yes, you are the one with a position to defend. Explain to me why you enjoying on foot means that I don't need to jump my carrier or pay double upkeep for it, or not be able to land weapons in organic pvp, or lose half the players I play with cos we're now mixed up into two different and nearly equally broken games, and finally, yes, you need to defend how you think that FD is going to roll back these awful planet surfaces (when you get up close), just because Rat Catcher enjoys some of the on foot sections. While I have no real hoipe that they will roll it back, it is my considered, preferred solution, as it ensures that Odyssification never hits the more unique planets in the game, most explorers are crying about this too, and I think we all know that they are the real elite demographic anywa, not you as an FPSer or me as a PvPer.

I'm really not getting where you're getting that I said my solution would only affect a small amoutn of people, and honestly, it's a bit tiring being constantly pulled up by people who are 'muhffended' by my use of the word 'we', most of us got over that 2 pages in. My solution would affect everyone, yes, I am speaking for quite a few people, but not everyone, yes. But I feel it's worth it and I'm willing to discuss it. I'm not willing ot discuss further my use of the word 'we'. .

I may hit you up for help in FA-Off... Even the "beginner" videos on youtube are either missing a couple of steps or I'm missing the obvious (not impossible!), thanks! (y)
Anytime.. My PC cmdr name is Tantric Jellybean.. there are plenty of very good vids and whatnot but people learn in diff ways and sometimes it's easier with someone to boost around.

But I guess it is okay to use WE when WE should be happy it runs at 30fps and accept it as industry standard, because someone who hasn't played a game since the TI-85 went out of style says so.

Sorry but I have no need to defend my entertainment against a 'majority' dislike - That is irrational reasoning, but thanks for the suggestion that I should put a 'majority' before my own enjoyment - tell me, do you do exactly that in this game?

FC upkeep isn't doubled, have you checked today? (it was fixed allegedly - I don't know, neither of my FCs have had the end of week summary yet)

I need to defend how I think anything? This "you need to defend how you think that FD is going to roll back these awful planet surfaces (when you get up close)," is amazing, show me where I have said anything similar to that you imply.

Sorry, Aash, I think you are on a roll to the wrong person here - your imagination has gotten the better of you.

Since it seems to be necessary every few pages on this forum, let me reiterate why I feel a rollback is worth doing.

1) It puts us all back in one game together.
2) It ensures that the planetary generation we have now, is not the final version. I worry if we don't roll back, all it will get is tweaks and canyons and other interesting plaent features that aren't 'placed' will be no more after horizons goes offline. See this post for a very important and clear example of that... https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...l-wait-for-it-to-be-ready.581555/post-9288013
3) It has affected Horizons a lot. If we say 'ok just fix odyssey', maybe horizons won't ever be fixed. If we say, roll back, try again, at least we get working horizons back until its finished.

Cheers to those who try to understand why I feel such an extreme solution is the way to go. o7

And I think your being utterly selfish and insensitive to the wider needs of the game. But we don't need to fall out over it. :)
