Please give us Imperial Blue Lasers with Powerplay.

You can't see lasers in space! The laser traces are generated by your HUD using patented Handwavium Laser Trace Detectors.

You'd have to talk to your HUD manufacturer.

It would conveniently reveal the locations of Imperial Hipsters so I can target them more efficiently though. :)

I'm not sure how this could work in game. My ships computer would need to know who each player was allied with (what if it's all three factions) or limited to ship types, in which case Fed pilotd get them too when flying those ships.

I must prot... Ey? That is brilliant! In the name of tactical awareness, these HUD elements should be calibrated for optimal battle awareness! In a consistent and manufactory dependent manner, we hereby formally request faction military contractored ships, to be colour coded in the appropriate manner, as to avoid any unfortunate accidents in the line of duty! :D

Why not beeing able to tune our own laser color in the equipement screen? that would be great!

Like how you can change the colour of your lightsaber via different coloured crystals in the Old Republic games?

That would be great if we could buy colouring components aha

I'd have purple lasers and aptly name my ship "The Mace of Windu."

yup or more simply a rgb editor incorporated in the ui on that screen ^^

I'd imagine they'd add colouring modules if they ever went with this to make it more "realistic."

Haha, you could be searching far and wide for a station that sells a yellow component, for example.

You're idea would be so much simpler and probably the best, so I assume they could add in the option to buy a "laser colouring module" that makes any colour we want.

Military contractors. Gutamaya ( Empire), Core Dynamics ( Feds ) and eh... whatever that poor Alliance got.

"Argent Aerodynamics Amalgamated Inc, or AAAI is a company co owned by Mic Turner(deceased) and Meredith Argent. It is an advanced space flight research centre that controls the New Rossyth Shipyards (NRS). The company shipyards are the largest commercial shipyards in known space and due to the engineering skill and ingenuity of its personnel, have produced some of the greatest starships humanity has ever seen, such as the Turner's Quest"

I would prefer Lasers to have different colouration for the class they are rather than by faction.
We have ship livery and decals for faction identification.

You did get that sinking feeling in FE2 when the starscape was cut across by a white or blue beam rather than the red of the 1 MW beam

Note: Gyr, Lanner, Lanner 2, Tiercel Freighter are Core Dynamics ships, Skeet is Whatt and Pritney (same ones as brought us the Python, now part of FdL), Merlin is from the Perez Corporation (don't know who owns that one now).

Is it only me wanting different types of cup holders, by ship class?

Mug holders for haulers/traders, capuccino for passenger ships, and shot glasses for combat ships.

Bottled water holders for the multi-role ships maybe?

And some (mostly) empty Gatorade bottles bouncing around the flight deck for the RES farmers?

There is always someone into their factional lore! I remember some of those ships, vaguely! And I made a point out of not knowing abut the Alliance, for they need more love! :)

It is important to also remember that FE2 was not about multiplayer, and the decals and livery is hardly delivering recognition in a consistent or uniform manner at the time of writing! If things should be like they once were, it would also not be necessary to redesign the ships for example. I say we need to go with the environmental changes here, and embrace the future. But if we all should agree, the forum would come with informational stickies mostly, so all input is probably equally valuable, even when you turn into a fiery inferno inside!

( That was merely for illustrative purposes though, nobody inside got burned by little Imps! )

well at-least you could colour code burst lasers, so they look different than the pulse lasers. Its hard to see the difference.

Since you can buy a pulse laser anywhere, and refit as often as you like, wouldn't it make more sense to have all lasers fitted by Imperial stations shot blue, all Federal stations fit green* lasers, Alliance stations fit yellow* and everyone else fit red*?

* substitute your favoured color scheme here.

Could go one step further, and make none generic lasers require rep with the station. Wouldn't want the riffraff flying our colours...

I would actually be fine with laser color being a store purchase like skins. I see my lasers much more than I see the outside of my ship.

I just want the blue beams for plasma accelerators back, a la FFE, rather than having them fire the current purple flying people eater eggs.

Blue lasers? Why would I want bl-

OK, I'm on board.
