Please increase the number of missions by 10X

So, I got to a new system and want to get myself allied.
I look for transport missions.
Of the near 70 missions available. 1 of them was a (non wing) transport mission, which I did not have enough rep to take.
There was around 25 wing transport missions.

If your going to do this sort of crap (completely thoughtless and without planning as usual) at least increase the number of missions 10X
The way it is now its effectively a major nerf to transport missions.

I've been running into similar issues. I had been running transport and pirate assassination missions out of Sol and the surrounding region for a couple weeks prior to 3.0, and there were a bunch to choose from. The mission counts seem to have increased, but now they're predominantly wing missions. Some of the wing transport missions pay okay, but most are more work for less pay than the original solo ones. Plus, I find hopping between a bunch of systems and letting the mission boards kind of direct me where they please to be more enjoyable than back-and-forth routes, which the wing missions force. Took a stab at a wing assassination mission, but came away quite humbled. :)

I like the new mission counts, and I like being able to run wing missions in solo -- the assassination ones give me a new goal something to work towards -- but I wish their appearance was better tied to whether you're actually in a wing or not. Increasing them 10x seems a bit excessive, though.

Actually this is a genuine feature that has come about from this new release. It's particularly bad if you fly small ships in solo and want to do transport missions. The rewards have gone down, the number of missions available that are doable have gone down, so the best you can do most of the time is 1 mission per place for circa 100K credits. In a Cobra with 18T of cargo space you are not going to do a wing mission. So there is now a need to go to the bigger ships simply because that gets you into being able to solo wing missions. I suspect this is an unintended consequence. I think wing missions are a great idea, I think the idea of taking multiple journeys to the same place is a great idea but they should also appear as single player missions with smaller quantities and smaller rewards.

Perhaps missions should be scalabe, like mini community goals. Have rewards per ton delivered, and milestones, such that the first is intended to be a reward for lone players, while the last is intended for wings, but any number of people can complete any amount. A bit of intelligence in scaling these milestones for the size of you and your wingmates ships should solve the problem of inappropriate mission availability. When you choose to take the mission, the cargo defaults to the amount needed for the first milestone with the option to increase it if you plan on going for more, and when you hit a milestone during delivery, the rewards screen prompts you to accept rewards, and either clear the mission or carry on and deliver more. Missions then remain essentially the same for both solo and wing players, but it opens up some more options, and eliminates this problem.

I understand the OP's comment. There are just tons of wing missions now, taking up space in the mission board. Very few are do-able by a single CMDR, so they in-effect waste all that space if you're not looking for wing missions (which means most of the time, for most people, I would guess).

The same thing happened when Passenger missions first appeared. They used to share a limit with the regular missions, so you would wind up with stations that had almost no regular missions showing.

Eventually they split off the Passenger missions so that they didn't share the limit, but had their own separate limit.

Hopefully FD will tweak this a bit -- it's a bit annoying as is.

That's how it looks to me, too.

Last week I was plodding along, easily making around Cr50m per hour in my Python, doing half a dozen long-haul cargo missions at a time - each paying between Cr5m and Cr10m.
Not exactly "get rich quick" territory but a nice little earner.

Now the mission boards all seem to be filled with wing cargo missions and there's very few regular ones. [sad]

I gave up trying to find small cargo missions after 2.4. The only time I ever saw <16t was as follow-on missions.
Maybe it's a combination of my Trade rank and my home base, but all I ever got were data deliveries.

Single cargo missions are still there. With a 264 cargo Python, Elite Trader and allied with everyone local I made 11 million with three missions to two local systems. Still one has to wade through the wing cargo missions and get lucky with a good payout to find them.

What's worse is the systems that are on the edge of the bubble. Had used explo data to get allied status with factions at just about every station in a localized group of systems. Went back post-Beyond, and each of them had only 1 or sometimes 2 missions. Most were in boom economy and my guy is Tycoon trader rank. Something is wrong.

Most wing missions are quite doable solo if you have one of the big 3/4 ships. The payouts for them aren't very good for the time investment though.

As for smaller ships, there are downsides to nerfing yourself.

I find the best spots for haulage missions are usually outposts in extraction and refinery systems, although starports in agris are also good.

Something is wrong.
something is definitely wrong - after the latest patch I get more haulage missions from my allied stations than I can feasibly take.

I noticed this problem in the Beta. It seems they've (mostly) gotten rid of Wing missions when you are in Solo, but sounds like the problem still persists in Open?

BTW, it doesn't help that they're reduced the total number of missions (since 2.4) by about 25% (from around 107 down to about 82).
