Please turn off Collision Detection on Scenery.... PLEASE!!

I posted the same thing in the suggestions forum. I would so greatly appreciate the freedom to cover the tank edges without restriction. It's literally the first thing I went to test when I put a log flume down, and again when trying the rapids last night.

You can kind of do it with placement on the very edge as pictured above by Curylriff, but it's a bit of a slow and tedious process to make it work. I know giving us this kind of freedom can result in unsightly graphical clipping, but with the restriction lifted park makers would at least be able to see what works and what doesn't and decide for themselves. Personally I'd love to see this restriction lifted from all the flat rides too, but for the water rides it is really quite vital as, all these years later, the implementation of the flume and rapids is not much of an advance over what we had in RCT3.

The problem of whether an object is blocking the track is easy to solve (I think). If an object that today would be disallowed because it intersects the track is placed then simply make it that the coaster or ride has then got to be re-tested. If it then crashes because the object is in the way so be it the object(s) will need to be moved but if it doesn't crash then it should be ok?!
Totally agree that we should be able to add rocks by the river rides.

Having coasters crash if they hit objects would put us been in the same spot because scenery can't have perfect collision boxes. If anything, this would lead to the same sort of confusing coaster crashes that Roller Coaster Tycoon World is having. If you're going to block scenery from touching rides, the way it's set up now is best. But it would be better to just not have the restriction to begin with.

Just let it clip through rides. Up to the user of them to fix it if it looks bad. If someone wants to make a ride where you just continually clip through rocks and bushes then have a great time ya weirdo

totally +1 [up]

we need to disable the collision with rides to build the park of our dreams! [haha][haha]
I am frustrated and disappointed please change it I can't build further. [mad][mad]
[cry][cry][cry][cry][cry][cry][cry][cry]

Just chucking in my +1

Having it on would make sense if it was applied to everything, but it isn't. Why can paths be built through walls but rides can't? This is a creative game, and no amount of hitbox tweaking is going to match what an end user can achieve with their eyes and best judgement.

If you turn this off.. we can do a lot more stuff.. such as blend the new river rapids better.. .. decorate flat rides... etc..

This is now a must have guys..

Come on, you're killing us here with restrictions.

Agree 100%, completely senseless restictions, on coaster building in particular, kind of killed the game for me. [mad]

Pretty sure they know we wanted, becuase instead of switching it off, they have been tweaking a lot the collision detection so it possible to intersect a little with the majority of rides.

But yeah, I would prefer the game to dont have it at all.

Yeah I was also working on a rocky river rapids, and found it to be quite annoying to get the rocks to go where they needed to. For a game that has taken such massive strides in the area of aesthetic and design, and truly shown that it not only acknowledges many player's desire for deep scenery design but also trusts the player with the complete gridless freedom to make things look exactly how you want, I am kind of surprised that this collision detection exists. I mean... if someone wants to have a ride that shoots straight through a building's wall or a rocky outcrop... so what? The rest of us want the freedom to do exactly what we envision, and 99% of us will use that to make things look great, not just to try and break the game with crazy scenery placements.

Likewise i would love to see that we could use the empty space under the genie ride. you know, that "bridge" that is just there to mock you because you cant place anything under it.

I'm guessing that turning off collision for every object in the game isn't a case of flipping a switch. But considering that there only 27 flat rides changing the flag on them shouldn't be a problem for that part of the request. As far as all objects having collision off, that might involve a lot of work. Not sure if they could make it a universal toggle. Besides, there are times when you want collision to make building easier. But I would very much like to see removing collision as an option when doing paths. That would allow us to patch up those little areas that always seem to show up when trying to put paths over an area and to be able to go over another path.

Yeah I kind of expected you'd be able to build paths or rides under there...

As stated before, an option or cheat would be perfect for this function.
Just like rct3 had a cheat to build on paths :)

Speaking of paths, I noticed Shyguy was on this forum. Hey, Shy, how about designing some path covers. Need to fill in a lot of area in a good park.

Also begging for this. There is literally no reason to restrict us from toggling collision. I want to build a path through the genie ride. Iw ant to put lights on top of thrill rides. I want to run coaster tracks way too close together, and make teh connie express cross itself and paths.

I don't care if guests wlak right through it, it would look cool, and more importantly, this was base game functionality in RCT3. Let us turn off clipping!

I need this so bad. Please give us an option to turn of collision checks on rides.
We dont have these checks for pathes why for rides?

The game is just great, we can create the park of our dreams, at least as long as we do not build attraction because impossible to integrate them in the scene due to collisions.

Please add an option to disable collisions as soon as possible [cry].
