Yup, I spent the day 1 hopping to SARAS (5ly) and back with Colbalt (around 5-6000 tonnes left when I logged off)
There are 2 outposts there 16ls from the star, I was taking them Advanced Catalizers......I was making about 115,000 per round trip (280 Tonnes)
Not much but I'm just enjoying my first CG.

500,000 T of Cobalt in Poleshchuck Dock in Meelov if anyone is interested in hauling it. Only 21.22 LY from Kaushpoos.
Hm, can be that I messed up C and G, they do sometimes like to look very similiar. Alltough what he did seems to be the opposite of what you discribe - First demanded to drop all my cargo, I just quickly droped a few to show goodwil and try to negoiate, but then he just flew away and jumped back to SC. So first a piracy attempt with no intention to kill later ^^
Also Saturaday evening seems to be quiet, no pirates on sight the whole evening. Also had seen some People saying the same on Comms, no pirates anywhere. Guess they are all out drinking Rum!

They probably realized it's not in their best interests to oppose building a station out in the boonies. Good, I like bad guys who plan ahead.
The polite pirates were fun...being killed....sloooowly (not quick death), toyed with, not fun at all.....but time to move on , lessons learned & all that
I have survived the gauntlet of The Code, the stupid NPC attackers and being crashed in to by overly racey cmdrs in big T7s and anacondas but I was finally killed by a dodgy button on my HOTAS. Whilst inside the landing bay my boost button jammed on....

I was running my "Tronda" with 6A Shields + 6x 0A Boosters and on 4/2/0 Pips. Had about 5% Shields left when I did the HiWake outta trouble.
Slapped a 7th 0A Booster onto it after the event
PS. Recharging from 5% back to full took well over 15 Minutes I think
ahhh that may have been my problem, I was running 5A shield generator on my Ananconda trader....was using a few guide I saw out there to build my Anaconda...once I get more credits will upgrade to at least a 6A shield generator

I think the majority of people do...some don't care, or are smuggling by firewall-ling the throttle & zipping into the station hoping not to be scanned...done that a few times myself...but always aim for the green lights...going in & going out

I had my Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS go nuts when I was in a station one time...Alt-Tabing between game & Internet Explorer (ED bewsites...trading, forums, route planner sites ) a few time & then I was bouncing around the inside of a station & a few ships in my Imperial Clipper at that time...man that ship is fast lol pips set 4/0/2, landing gear dropped, cargo scoop drooped, deploy SB ...no response to full throttle apparently...Alt-Tabed between game & Internet Explore a few time & then the HOTAS throttle responded again...thank fully I was allied with that station & they just felt the need to throw multiple fines at me & I had 1 faint ring of shield left....now more careful when I Alt-Tab
I do like the Steam overlay (bought ED through Steam), but I found it to be slow & awkward when trying to upload screenshots to this forum thru the Steam overlay.
...also for a while using the Steam client to launch the ED would have an issue where the mouse icon would go to the center of the screen & refuse to move...made navigating menus & the galaxy map difficult, so I started just launching the ED launcher from the Steam folder to bypass using Steam Client....it probably is fixed now but just got in the habit of bypassing the Steam Client

That's a good idea, that's a very tanky setup if you combine it with minimum 5x 0A Boosters. 6 or 7 don't hurt, leaving one free for the mandatory Chaff. As usual, 4 Pips SYS is the key.
In retrorespect, I should have carried at least a 3A or 4A SCB. Even if Shields stayed up after an encounter or having to rebuild them at a safe place, popping SCBs really beats waiting for them to come back to full power on their own.
In one of my more stupid "so this guy is rated Deadly??!" moves, I accidentally tapped Silent Running hotkey while chatting inside a Station ready to depart
2nd time in a single day I wished I had equipped a Shield Cell Bank
(sure was deadly for both my Shields AND my trade schedule *lol* )

Ahhh dang I would need to swap out the point defense to get more shield boosters.....this is the setup I currently have on the Ananconda:

...is the point defense useful /necessary?
...also I might have swapped out a couple of the beam weapons on the large hardpoint for burst lasers...I'll have to see when I get home...my saved link was before I tinkered with the weapons at the station when I built the Ananconda at LHS 20...
ouch!...I moved my "silent runing" hotkey to T5 on my Saitek X52 Pro HOTAS...tried to put it far away as I don't really use it & have accidentally activated it in the past on the old hotkey position, when I was in combat a long time ago....wasn't the best move lol"

I've given my throttle assembly a disassemble and clean and the boost button has stopped jamming. It had jammed before but never inside a station and never wth such disasterous results.
