This:

1. Buy Cargo
2. Plot Course
3. Press Autopilot
4. ???
5. Profit

Was essentially how the original, and hugely successful and groundbreaking Elite worked. When you got to the system, you might have to fight. Have you ever had a fight outside a station in ED? - no, of course not, you have to re-instance and go to some crappy arbitrary 'conflict zone'.

The difference between the original Elite and this crappy but beautiful effort is that the original wasn't purely a vanity astrophysics project for David Braben

And we have a winner of the very complicated jump to next star mechanics in ED...

Lol that person thinks Sodium is Salt. I see what he attempted there.

Its awesome that <just anyone is> allowed to post in the forum every now and again.

Well, sodium is a highly reactive element, and not present in nature. The ions are common.

There are many salts, but Na+Cl- is very simple and common and well known, so probably the one you're thinking of.

Yeah, I sprinkled some sodium on my soup and it exploded in my face. Now I am salty!

Well, you would have sodium hydroxide on your face, as well as your sweat.

How are we supposed to troll each other if you come and inject intelligence in this thread ? Raining on honest trolls parade, is that your conception of fun ? Griefer !

Yes but lifting weights is just bettering your physical fitness. Its something you do for you and effects only those around you.
When you play a sport and you work hard to be good at it, make sacrifices etc. and someone comes along and uses some means of gaining an unfair advantage, like steroids, there tends to be an outcry and subsequent regulation and testing more often than a coach saying "allright team, it's legal so if you don't use it you're off the team because you won't be able to compete"

This is a video game and no matter how good you are at it the accomplishments are not actual tangible things.
Why do they need to be? Why not have free ships and modules? Where is the sense of accomplishment for you in this game? How does watering it down for you not water it down for me? Why not have supercruise auto-pilot too? Combined with a docking computer you can set a course, watch a TV show and come back when it's time to sell your goods. If you don't have autopilot for supercruise what does your ship do when it drops out, aligns course and charges the FSD again? SC autopilot. 1000ly journey while you take the kids to a ball game. Come home and have a higher rank in exploration. How is that fair for those who don't want to use it? How is that far fetched or extreme? It bothers me because we do have ranks and halls of fame and recognition for outstanding pilots. Watered down.

Whats better the Hill drop on a roller coaster or a 19 hour drive across country in a fart scented van?
If you think the way I like to play the game is analogous to a fart scented van I don't think I can see eye to eye with you on this. I enjoy a first class flight more than bumper cars.

Yes lets break down elements to their un natural form!!!.

There isnt one single element on this planet that is not contaminated by some other element. Hence why they are called elements.

I also see that you are trying to be clever.

Tis good.

look say if you already have a trade loop....one can make a auto hotkey script to do it..........takes a bit of setting up but it can be easily done.
dont fancy writing one for a trip from jacqes to the bubble though...id have to map it all out first then convert to the hotkey process.

but for small trade runs ect...its doable.....even goes through the menus and then takes off to the next station ect.....a lot of memrising how many times one presses what at certain times and for how long ect...but it works.

google it.

note...think like voice attack command but on bigger scale...also could use VA if wish.

I hate to shatter your bubble, but this going to be asked for again and again until it is finally implemented... As for when, only Frontier can answer that question.

Personally, I'd like to see a full autopilot implemented that can fuel scoop and dock at a station. I know that is not a popular choice, but it's mine. Your still making the executive decisions, your still at risk from interdiction, jumping into a binary that cooks your ship, etc etc, but it would take some of the tedium out of exploration. Sorry but pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button...

Is just not good game play!

It's probably something the devs can look into when crews are implemented fully.

Yeah, but element is a concept. I might not be able to show you a pure element, but the idea exists - yes?

p.s. I'm not trying to be clever, I'm actually trying to keep it simple for you guys - and seemingly failing.

Believe me you are attempting to be clever. I dont think the name of this post was" Do you think Sodium is a myth?" It was asking about a nav computer and the subsequent negative dribble ensued. The funny attempts a clever rebuttals to a legitimate disagreement is very amusing. Especially when use wrong term and have no idea what they said while trying to insult another person. You are however failing at being clever.

Please continue down your line of reasoning and you will see that white knighting a troll probably isn't the best ground you could be standing on.

Yeah, but I can't see most of your posts, because I must have blocked you and others in the past. Given the drivel I am reading, it may have been a good decision.

Feel free to do it again. You do not seem to offer much of benefit to this thread. Cant imagine the others.

1 in 3 people would like it - that's not negligible. There's no right or wrong answer.

This old chestnut again, the same as the instant poll. The laws of mathematics are been rewritten to make out 1/3 is equal or more than 2/3, someone explain to these guys what a majority is and simple arithmetic.

It worked then. Good for it. It means I get to play ED now.

And yes. I have had a fight outside a station. Some pirates are just so stupid they'll follow me all the way to the landing pad to pick a fight with me. In some cases I just go into the hangar and let the station express it's displeasure with said pirate. Other times I'll abort landing and turn my guns on the pirate stupid enough to follow me in.

And it may just be you old timer but I actually like having some place to go when I go looking to pick a fight with someone rather then trying to entice someone to come after ME.

And thank god for the differences. While I'm sure I might enjoy the original, the reasons I bought this game are still valid. They're still there. And I'll be damned before I let anyone tell me "Was better back in the day".
