Now I want a bell for my ship. These days we need docking computers like a fish needs a bicycle.
Interactive bobblehead idea?

I could support the OP (maybe) if interstellar autopilot is;
A really really heavy module or
Is a Core Internal module that replaces (and reduces) FSD range or
Is a specialist Thruster module that reduces maneuverability or
Uses material or
Has a heavy signature similar to carrying a valuable cargo or
Raises the Elite ranking of potential NPC interdictions or .....
I hate to shatter your bubble, but this going to be asked for again and again until it is finally implemented... As for when, only Frontier can answer that question.
Personally, I'd like to see a full autopilot implemented that can fuel scoop and dock at a station. I know that is not a popular choice, but it's mine. Your still making the executive decisions, your still at risk from interdiction, jumping into a binary that cooks your ship, etc etc, but it would take some of the tedium out of exploration. Sorry but pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button, scooping, pressing the jump button...

>>A really really heavy module
Why? It is a few lines of code. Now what is the mass of a thousand lines of code - you silly sausage.

LOL, that would actually require people to be in front of a screen- which is what they want to avoid with that apparatus anyway!![]()
Yes! It would give me more time to read my book. Its a pain to have to look up, change direction and then go. Surely you'd have such a thing in the future. And if it gets more people into this game all the better. Plus you don't have to use it.
There is an autopilot ingame already. Its called getting to the star you plotted a course to.
Thought this was sarcastic at first, realized unfortunately it's not.
Go read your book and concentrate on it totally instead of trying to split your attention.
The Nos thankfully have won this.
Please no more over-simplification of an already simple game.
I think that's the point where multi crew comes in.On top of that at some point, when we will be able to walk inside the ship do we really have be in pilot chair for it to travel?

Wow 19 pages and 400 votes in a very short time.
This subject is always emotive and seems to be the same arguments back and forth. If FD want to make an autopilot they will. And you can chose to not add one to your ship. However I would rather they concentrate on coding more needed stuff first.
Its very simple to do, around a weekend including pizza and beer, its already possible today with a 3rd party app.
if the flying across the vast space doesn't appeal to you, well- there's plenty other games out there.
