Post your weird systems!

A curious system

Screenshot_0585.jpg

The second planet is an ammonia world which I shall call Behemoth.
At 15,1300 Earth masses with a Radius of 18,375KM and 2,328.36 Atmospheres this smelly giant is home to some unusually resilient life.
Behemoth has no less than three moons.

The sixth planet of this system is most unusual.
This class III gas giant appears to have captured no less than four class I gas giants, including two binary giants!

Here are a few low res screenies.

The highest count of CMDRs I've seen online to date

Reminds me of a caterpillar.

This nebula is unfortunately more interesting from the outside than once in. The black inkiness of the nebula doesn't show as anything once inside.

I dropped into this system, and it almost fried me, I have one heatsink left, I heard the canopy crack, but there are no visible cracks in the canopy, so I don't know what to think.

The only way I can explain this system is that something went supernova and the explosion created the gas cloud that formed the T Tauris, while leaving a black hole left in the middle. Every other star is a T Tauri...

This all from today and yesterday.

66 objects all orbiting one star, I could barely screenshot this in one frame on max zoom out.

Celestial order, various colors, similar sizes. Note water world orbiting T-Tauri that's orbiting the G-class star.

That's some funky orbits right there.

No pics as I'm at work, but lasy night I ran into a 4 astro body NS system that had 1 HMC (TC), and 2 ELW.
I won't complain, but I find it strange, to say the least.

Can post pic yet but new to exploring and came across a system with one main sun and about 10 ringed planets in orbit. One of them was a ringed brown dwarf star and not planet which took me by surprise, especially as I went in to take a closer look! Is this unusual?

Well, it's not weird per se but I don't think I saw this very often:

ringed_L_dwarf.jpg

It's a ringed L-type dwarf orbiting its primary. At 0.1016 Solar Masses it's too light to support hydrogen fusion so it's more or less a big gas giant with some stellar properties like deuterium burning. Still, it had me intrigued in some way... :D

Fly safe!

I was about to mine for the community goal at Kaushpoos. On my way over there I happened to jump into the LTT 12696 system and immidiately saw this in the distance:
Rings from distance.jpg

"A graphical glitch?" I thought and went closer to investigate... and found this:

That ring is without doubt the largest ring I've ever have seen! Is there a galactic record for this?

Ringed brown dwarves happen; they're not super rare but they're unusual. If you get in close to them they sometimes have huge ring-systems and the dark sides of the rings can be basically invisible. It's quite a shock to run into those at speed!

Whoah! I've never seen one that big before, either. Looks like that star ripped apart an ice giant! How beautiful!

I had trouble searching the galactic record book, so I kind of gave up on trying to look for records. So, I'm not sure.

No. It's something you'll see a lot, especially with bigger primaries. In fact you can see some pretty crazy stuff out there:

Today's weather: sunny. VERY sunny.

Found this one interesting.

Airless water world with 5 moons is a bit out of the ordinary.
Does anyone know what the record is?

This is not actually a weird system, but its a rather weird Gas giant with rings. Was hanging around Kaushpoos scanning stuff with my Cobra when I come across the Gas Giant Saras 5. At first you think it looks pretty normal, right?
Saras 5 1.jpg

Further out I realised something was wierd about the orbital lines, didn't really pay too much attention at first but then I turned them off. Oh, I see, thats no Oribtal lines!

Never seen rings like that, have been far out up to a bit over 31k Ly, over 7000 Systems and Elite in exploring and even in inhabited Space I can still find things I have never seen before, its amazing!

An extremely massive Herbig AE/BE leading a procession of 21.6 solar masses Black Hole, 14 TTS and various planets, including two Water Worlds, a Water Giant and Gas Giant with Water Based Life - all of them big.
The number of bodies was so big they didnt fit in one screen even on my 24" monitor. I think this system is a record breaker for most bodies in Herbig AE/BE system.

An ordinary Earth-like planet but if you look closer in the middle of the screen can be seen its twin, orbiting at a short distance. Twin Earth-like planets is not unique find but still quite rare.

Good stuff, this is very interesting ring indeed. I think i have never seen anything like it.

Whoah!! Supercruising to anywhere near that ... would be endlessly fun. I may have to visit just so I can see what screenshots I can get.

If you haven't visited R CORONAE AUSTRINI, check it out too :)

I don't think I've ever seen anything that complicated. Congrats on finding what appears to be the stellar forge's kitchen sink!
