Newcomer / Intro power problem with the corsair

I built and modded a corsair. I should have plenty of power, armored/monstered mods, but the boost function on second boost locks/freezes the ship up. a7 distro with mods can't keep up with the power usage. The only thing I have left to do is super conduits on the distro. I have checked the auto low power shut down 1-5 and they seem to be in the right sequence. Has anybody else had a power issue with the corsair?

if the ship locks up in the sense that it goes only straight and takes no input from you: You're probably blacking out when doing a boost turn. I've had that happen in the Corsair. Watch for the screen edges getting dark when that happens. Apart from that: Put up an EDSY link for your build.
 
Not seen this with my Corsair running a 7A G1 Low Emissions + Thermal Spread power pack, all essential modules in the 40% region.
Distro 7A G5 Weapon focussed + Cluster Capacitors.
 
This is while pitching, when spinning to retarget. It stops input and will hold the ship for a few seconds. I'm used to flying a phantom which is a little quicker and so far a better ship for combat. Helmut, DracoNB and Kofeyh Have found the problem. I'm not sure how to avoid the problem, I find flight assist off to be a pain, maybe smaller thrusters will avoid the problem altogether. I will post if I find the answer. Thanks for the help. o7
 
I installed g6a dirty thrusters, Not perfect but much much better. Pip management is also very important with this build 1, 2.5, 3.5. For weapons I am using 2 g2 beam lasers and 3 g3 shock cannons, they are impressive! I have done several prebuild designs on edsy. The corsair is a much better unshielded ax ship then a shielded pve ship. " in my opinion LOL" Thanks again for the input cmdr's. o7
 
It was fine as a shielded PvE ship in the Conflict Zones at the recent CG, I will be bounty hunting later today.
Pips were Sys 2, Eng 0.5 Wep 3.5 to supply (for a while) 6 Overcharged Beam lasers 2 with Thermal Vent the rest were Oversized.

I utilised a mistake in my build, an overlooked cargo rack, to haul 16 tonnes for one of the new CGs I have added another reinforcement module ready for the next fights.
 
Apart from reducing the power of your ship, which you did by downgrading the thrusters, there is nothing you can do about that other than adjusting your flying style. Depending if you have analog or digital thruster controls, widen your turns by not giving full thruster support in turns (if you do at all) and generally don't double boost turn, and / or turn in wider circles. The thrusters on the Corsair are very powerful, as you found out.
 
I used the corsair at a haz-res last night with the smaller thrusters. It worked fine, still an adjustment of my flying style is needed. It still uses up the power quickly, life is about adjustments. The shock cannons are amazing. pop pop pop pop overheat warning pop pop target blows up. nice! You do run out of ammo quickly, but the insta kill is fun.

I run 6x efficient + plasma slug PAs and its a lot of fun. Heard modified plasma charge can be good as well... just enjoy the infinite ammo of PA w/plasma slug for CZs though
