Powerplay Beta 1.3 live, lets test if it improves performance for VR!

for me yes but I'm stressing for me because this may be an issue not effecting everyone so don't wanna get anyones hopes up who had issues.

like you I am running 2 x 980s and I can now run in DSR x 4 with a mixture of high, medium and low settings and I have only slight just in only certain situations but mainly inside stations are smooth as are res sites..

I can confirm mine are a million times better with latest patch - I never knew the DK2 could be this good - best VR so far for me. Not experimented with any settings - have Nvidia DSRx4 from previous version. I have applied GUI mod and ReShade ... wow.

Well done FD - reset also works ... near perfect on first view.

BeeZee - I am so happy ...

It shouldn't be necessary to run 4x dsr or ss to get results on par with 1.2, there's definately a huge issue with the current VR in game.

Do me a favour dude... Check the oculus slider ... Move it to lowest setting... Is it the same or have I tweaked a little too much? ;)

Alright, so I just tried it also, it's actually much better for me with regards to image quality.

One issue I noticed though, I now get stutter in galaxy map after this latest patch, also I can not select the system box to type anything in within the galaxy map (not sure if that's a riftism or not).

Ok thanks :)

I found playing around with some of the xml files gets the fidelity back to an acceptable level (basically transferred graphics config over from 1.2 to test server) but without the SS I still don't want to play. (Too spoilt I guess). When you compare with 1.2 it's like night and day. Going to wait for an official fix. :)

I have two folders...

User\AppData\Frontier_Developments and
User\AppData\Frontier Developments

The configs are all in the latter and appear to be shared by both builds.

My Program Files (x86)\Frontier does not have any configs in it.

So the idea of copying configs over doesn't quite work since I am pretty sure both builds share configs.

There is a GraphicsConfiguration.xml in Frontier_Developments\Products\PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER. Let me try and copy that one.

Your GraphicsConfiguration.xml, and AppConfig should be located somewhere like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1001
or at least mine is.
With beta files at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Frontier\EDLaunch\Products\PUBLIC_TEST_SERVER

I'm not seeing any difference copying over the GraphicsConfiguration.xml. The main problem seems to be heavy aliasing / jaggies around interface lines and text. The best part for comparison is to look at the info panel on the left when in the galactic map. You can see how badly pixelated the panel and text are compared to 1.3.

Okay try moving the app xml also... Might have been that that cleared things up somewhat.
I think the real issue lies buried somewhere in the win32 folder but I can't find it... I switched a bunch of files and parameters out and got the res back to the standard 1.2 but then killed the Beta in the process! Lol
Currently reloading.

Well done for persevering Slack. I really hope they sort it, especially the SS, as I've got 1.2 looking soo bloody beautiful on my machine, and smooth, I'd hate to play with anything less. Like you, been spoilt :)

Could you guys do a test for me? I had FXAA antialias enabled in-game and after I disabled it, the image quality of the HUD text seems much closer to what it was in 1.2
