I dont see why there wouldnt be a newsletter this week since I believe they are produced by a different department within Frontier towers. I could be wrong though.

you are most welcome... I try to stay positive even if I have a bad day, this and some other sticker is my signature one when I am at work and have one of those moments..... I am glad I triggered the same reaction that I have when I see that gif.
Just tried it - yes you can play the 'Single Player Combat Training' when the main game is offline. And you can still download the launcher from https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=76595 (though whether that is then able to download the remaining files is another matter).
@Decado - not sure if you have downloaded the game/launcher from your store (or Steam?) account yet but you can play the 'Single Player Combat Training' whilst you wait.

I think quite a few people are excited to get the big update today, and they don't realize that there are a few people who have just purchased the game, or who maybe only wanted to play on a Friday evening. It's unfortunate timing for them.
If I had just purchased the game on Steam or whatever today and then found out the servers were down for the whole evening, I'd probably get a bit upset as well.
However, if FD cancelled the update until Monday just for you, you might have to go into hiding

It was up a while back - it's probably being updated for Powerplay release.
Actually that raises a valid point - perhaps they should release the trailer AFTER the update is live, not before.

Well, i'm not gonna have that lack..
As my internet connection is 5Mbit it takes me the whole night to download the game folder (update).
The computer may be open and downloading but i wont be there tonight
BTW reading a book is a great idea..
I hope the person who suggested me to read a book will do the same..

Its not only the game service, even the website is not working!
There seem to be some another problem there.. (or just content upgrade)
