Powerplay Powerplay weapon ajustment (less grind and more realistic approach)

Currently PP weapons once unlocked appear EVERYWHERE across populated space, even hostile control powers supply weapons of their enemies. the fact you buy these weapons that require quite some time of allegiance to specific powers would ring some pretty big bells for local 'Hostile' Powers Eh?

Just to keep this short all I simply propose is that Weapons of PP affiliation are kept location specific to powers, to offset a minor inconvenience perhaps a week could be deducted from the time it takes to get them?

Fly Safe CMDRs! :)

Wait, you're suggesting that the APA, for example, not be usable in Federation space?

No no, I just mean purchased...you can still use as any other weapon haha :D

just seems odd how you can buy weapons of Opposing factions literally everywhere..

Yeah, a more realistic approach. It'd be like going to N Korea and buying American Flags and expecting noone to be suspicious...

Agreed on the power location specific part. I'd even go one step further and drop the pledge requirement for those weapons completely, all it does is forcing people to grind for months if they want certain modules. Just make them being purchasable a control system effect of each respective power.

Yeah I agree to a point of this, but there still needs to be some time pledged in order to unlock these items. otherwise there is no 'gain' to be had out of powerplay.

however, once you unlock modules they become permanent in control systems, even if you choose to pledge to another power they will always be there... a much better approach ;)

That's actually my main gripe with PP modules. In the current implementation they don't reward actually doing PP. Instead they reward pledging to powers you care nothing about, just sitting on your hands for three weeks doing a bit of grinding in the fourth and then immediately jumping ship to repeat this process in the next power you care nothing about. People that are actually actively enganged in PP and stick with their power (in some cases since the mode started) will get access to exactly one module on the other hand.

I just think it's a not a good idea to start with that an optional mode of the game is the only way to obtain certain modules (some of them essential for the PVP community at least). I guess the faction specific modules were supposed to be some sort of loyalty reward but the actual implementation incentivises the opposite. I don't think it helps with PP's general popularity / getting new people into it either, people that just want a couple PP modules have no choice but to invest months of time into mindless module shopping.

After 3 months pledge you should get more sizes and gimballed versions of the weapon. Just like your consolidation vote increases after longer pledge.

More controversial: access to the Panther Clipper after having invested 50.000 merits.

First they'd have to make some of the modules worth having in any size/variant.

yes,I have actually suggested this twice about varied modules (fixed, gimballed, turret) as well as different sizes.

3 months!!!!...stuff that! way too long to get a slight variation haha :D
