Have emailed support regarding upgrade from Prem Beta to Alpha but the store insists on trying to charge £200 instead of £100 ? Is this going to be fixed ?

Did you go to the very end of the process? The discount that you get for options available in the shop (so not KS extras) you have already paid for gets made at the very end of the process, I understand.

And if it doesn't for some reason, they will sort it out.

Well, if you are signed in properly, so it knows who you are, and thus that it should apply a discount, then something has gone wrong, and other than waiting for support to get back to you, I cannot suggest anything else.

So I'll check out that flight stick. Thanks for the help on that. Seems a shame not to give us one more Alpha but hey I was so happy to get one at all. I really plan on using 3 monitors in the end. This game is likely to take up a lot of my free time. Probably some of my not so free time as well.

Im having the same problem trying to upgrade my Premium Beta to Alpha

Beta to Premium upgrade

Evening all. Apologies if I'm just being impatient - I upgraded my Beta to Premium Beta about 4 hours ago and nothing's changed on the store page; my download client option still says Standard Beta coming soon and the new order isn't showing up, despite having received a confirmation mail.
Anyone know if I'm just not being patient enough or is it worth dropping zaonce an e-mail?

Hi all

finally got back on the internet after a week of being off it, and managed to upgrade to premium Beta. Yeah.

But having downloaded and tried to install I have had a number of problems getting past the unable to connect to server error.

1. So I made my D drive defaul, small SSD C drive and all that.
2. Got the error code:
"IPersistFile :: Savefailed; code 0x80070005
Access is denied"

On installation three time. But it managed to go on then got up window and after typing in details it didn't want to connect, got the "Unexpected response from the server..." error.

Got no news and when I went back into my account nothing on a new launcher or installer other than the one I downloaded which has the version number: 0.2.881.0

Has anyone else had this error, does anyone know a work around and despite doing a search, can anyone tell me to whom I feed this back to sort out the store site faq doesn't even list the error I'm getting and has no email for technical support?

During the KS there was two beta pledge levels: "first round" (£100) and "second round" (£50). The only thing that has changed is that these were renamed to "premium" (£100) and "standard" (£50).

Taken it to the guys on Tec Support, bit disappointing that this has come up. But I guess that is the point of beta testing. I was however hoping that if it installed and played well, I might try and upgrade to alpha, however that maybe premature, if I can't even get the beta installed.

there is a post in this thread telling people how to go about installing the game on a different drive (ie a work around). just scroll back 'til you find it.

it's also been mentioned by FD that people won't be given the option to install the game to a different drive until the games release (iirc / or something to that effect).

here is the quick fix, as posted elsewhere:

Kudos to TheDarkKnight for the easier and refined version. I have edited the OP so his instructions are on the main post.

Run the Client-Installer.exe
Choose the drive and or folder you wish to use. In my case D:\Elite
Let the launcher install finish, if it is running, close the launcher window, do not login
Navigate to where you installed the launcher, in my case D:\Elite, and create a folder called Products in the launcher folder. EG: - D:\Elite\Products
Now start the launcher again, log in and install the client.
When the download is complete you should see the install as automatically installed the client in the folder you created called Product.

This workaround will hopefully only be short lived. I am sure FD will get us an updated client installer than restores the option to chose your ED install location.
