Hullo.

Any chance of a patch for that build to give us the full controller support?

I would love to develop my Sidewinder skills, but... I want to develop those skills with the Logitech G940 which does not work with either throttle or pedals connected (even using virtual joystick hacks, software hacks, voodoo hacks, emotional pleading, staring at, glaring at and threats of eBay).

Done it, started mission 10 with 100% hull
Was always too close when he first jumps in, with little hull left so didn't last long.
This time i got out of the way quick and then stalked him, finished on 100% hull as well

Congrats!

I managed to get to wave 7 at last but no further than that. Every now and again I get caught out by one of the multi-fighter spawns if 2 spawn I can never get the first one quick enough and always sustain at least 30% to 60% hull damage from the second or third craft, which of course softens me up for the next adversary.

Random Question does the Oculus RIft support change with later builds? or has that pretty much stayed the same? It's a bit of a pain trying to get it to display properly and nearly always involves me changing screen resolution from the oculus' tiny screens before it kicks in.

Here Here! I have to resort to using a controller as black magic, ritualistic sacrifices and use of the force can't get two controllers working.

Double controller support would be amazing!

No chance whatsoever. Gift horse, mouth and all that. There is such support in later builds, and so it will be in the beta.

Controller support is pretty weak in this build, its playable without pedals but i hope support is better later on.

I'm waiting for a beta build too... My Saitek gamer keyboard and Fly5 are recognised as two separate game controllers, and ED doesn't like that in Alpha 1.

It's the same problem for any game that doesn't support multiple controllers.

I'm on that build. Shirley you mean the Standard Beeta/Bayta/Better?

Multiple controller device support was implemented in Alpha 3.0. So all next NEW major releases will feature it.

Alpha 1.1 single player available to Premium Beta is old release.

Has there been any hints if standard beta backers will get alpha 1.1 access when premium beta launches?. For me it isn't about the money, it will only cost 15 quid to upgrade my boxed edition to include it, but I personally don't want to play TOO much before launch........ but a bit of practice against a few ai should not ruin the magic too much. :)

Finally, will the alpha 1 missions be in the beta ( & gamma) as a training module?

Haven't heard of it. Yet.

Will Premium Beta progress get 'wiped' on newer Betas/Gamma?

So, will progress made (money, ships, etc.) be lost/'wiped' when the Premium Beta goes to 'full' Beta, or beyond, to Gamma, full-commercial version? As has happened to the Alpha backer players, every new Alpha release.

I understand why this happens, and am by no means complaining. I just wanted to know when the game can be played without fear of losing progress. I'm guessing the Premium Beta is the start of the persistent universe proper, but I thought it best to check ;)

cheers!

i wouldn't put money on it being beta, i think gamma is more likely to avoid a wipe/restart than either of the beta's

You should expect progress to be reset at various stages within the beta process. Once we reach gamma we will endeavour to not reset unless we have to.

Star Citizen just announced May 29 (one day before Elite beta May 30th) to release their dogfighting module. With their missed deadlines, so many promises, putting so much emphasis on marketing and events where they can get the most exposure - this is just them trying to steal the spotlight away from Elite's big day and kind of a ***** thing to do.

You know what you gotta do - Nothing is happening May 28th. ;)

*Disclaimer - I am in Elite Alpha (loving it) and also have a SC package.

Nonsense. E: D is always going to compete with SC, these dates have nothing to do with anything. Pure coincidence. Hasn't SC already tried to release the "dogfighting module" before but failed to? So this is just the new date when they think they'll have it working.

We'll see.

The "winner" will be the release with the most quality. Hopefully they'll both be good, and then ultimately the winners will be us. :)

Really coincidence? Everything SC does revolves around their marketing. Mid December was the first dogfighting module tentative date (and then pushed off "a couple of months"), then a big reveal in April (Pax? more marketing) and supposedly shortly after that the dogfighting module and now May 29 (why not May 15, 20, 25, 30 - a nice round date) - the day before Elite Beta is the new date. Not coincidence. Why not June 1st? Because that is after Elite.

I think both games can coexist and be extremely successful. To me this is like 2 sisters. One is outgoing and the center of attention (SC). The other (Elite) just goes about her business and announces she is going to get married and sets a date. The outgoing sister can't bear the thought of her sister having the spotlight for one day and announces her wedding the day before and clear across the country.

All eyes are on these 2 games. Maybe it's a dumb milestone, but to step in front of Elite and swipe the trophy for first game to beta does mean something. The spotlight (and spending $$) shifts back to the SC on May 29 and everyone forgets about Elite for a few days. SC knows how to sell a game - Elite knows how to make a game.
