After little thinking, bought Premium Beta. I´m sure this will be worth it (and hopefuly my little part will help development).![]()

Did you email frontier about it?

Yeah. I have said it before that in my opinion Premium Beta will be one of biggest tests (so far) for how build and servers handle the playerbase. I´m sure players number increase at least tenfold or even more on 30th May.Welcome Kris, I think there will be a lot of new cmdr joining on PB![]()
Sorry for the opening spiel, it's my first post after lurking here for a while, but I just wanted to clear something up after reading this thread, and that is the suggestion (maybe i've misread) that Beta users will continue to see updates 2 weeks after Alpha users.
I disagree greatly.I can't say that this makes much sense to me, since if you are in the beta then it is there for you to test things, and I can't see much benefit in testing something when there is already a new build out in other testers hands, and you don't know if the things you are testing are changed or not.
2 weeks wait is the interval between Alpha 4 and the start of Premium Beta.
After that, the builds will also be available for alpha testers first but the wait for premium beta testers will be usually few hours, unless there are some serious stability issues that prevent playing.

It makes a lot of sense. When Frontier adds new stuff, or makes changes to build, its smart to release it first to much smaller group of Alpha backers where it is easier to contain any issues. Easier to catch issues/bugs. What they are aiming is to eliminate as much bugs/problems as possible before they release it for wider audience (in current case Premium Beta).
Disagree also that Premium Beta don´t have any "benefit of testing". Opposite of that. With Premium Beta game opens to much greater audience than before. More new hardware and variables. There will be bugs, and problems etc etc. What Premium Beta players will do is make the game ready for even wider release - normal Beta. And when normal Beta arrives, players will make it ready for Gamma and commercial release. Step by step.
Want to make sure I understand this.
Once the beta phase starts, all new builds will be available to Alpha backers FIRST, for two weeks, before the beta backers are able to try it? So it's a fragmented beta process? Trying to understand if this is the case and if so what is the point.
Alpha contributors get early access to future builds and a lifetime benefit of discounted in-game ship insurance.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who have played such an important role in Alpha testing, and I’m very happy that we will continue to benefit from their valuable input as they test Beta builds approximately 2 weeks in advance of release.

That is correct, although the time difference will depend on the build. When we prepare a new beta phase it will be tested in alpha first, fixes made as needed and then released into beta. The purpose is to make development and support for the phases easier for the team.
