You also want to give them time to get in, get a coffee, settle themselves into the ass groove that they've cut though all those long development hours and take a deep breath and say "Shall we mess with them and make them wait? Tell them its been cancelled and april fool them late, or just put them out of their misery? [Engage internal office vote]"

I am sure the PB will be a massive cluster for the first hour or so. Horses coming out of the gate, but the gate is actually a rather thin starbase airlock.

It's a mighty late April fools :rolleyes:

But ye I am guessing it'll release with end of play today (5pm-ish). I hope it's sooner but it would be unfair to expect it.

We will start at a randomised position in the final release... in this one no one has said and it is highly unlikely that we will have many systems to play with. My bet is the same 5 systems in the alpha. Frontier have said nothing about expanding it. So do not get your hopes up for more than that. Before the Alpha release they explicitly told the backers there would be 5 systems. So I would expect they'd let us know if they were going to expand it by much.

As for backers there are 50000 backers but we don't know the break down of who is who if you look at the kickstarter page you can get a feel for how it was at the end. But there are double the number of backers now.

The WIP manual just posted only has the 5 systems from Alpha 4

No.

Lots more players just means lots more instances. No reason for the instances to get more crowded.

The Alpha forum button changed to a Beta forum button :D I expect there are some underlying changed for getting the PBeta later :)

If what we have been told by FD is correct, the alpha backers will get it a little while before the beta backers - an hour or two, perhaps. If that is the case, then the beta backers will probably get a lot more notice than the alpha backers.

Usually there is an update to the launcher program before a new release. There has not been one yet. React to that in any manner you see fit.

This isn't the case as you've already been testing 4.03. This build will go out to Premium beta (and alpha of course) at the same time.
