My DK2 arrived form the US on Friday last week.
Unboxed, marvelled at the build quality.
Connected everything up, installed the Oculus runtime.
Configured the DK2 for myself.
Now... lets get setup for ED!
Followed the fantastic thread by DrKaii to configure NVidia and ingame settings. Kudos to you man
I currently have a single 770GTX, but after a lot of tweaking here and there, it is running nicely in ED. (I am currently 2.5kly out exploring, so this probably makes a huge difference.)
I will be giving SweetFX a try tonight after reading the thread on it.
So, the problem I'm experiencing is that it now takes me 4 times as long to scan a whole system!
Why? I know it's quite slow anyway, but once a planet / body has been scanned, I'm not heading straight for the next one. I have to visually see it too, and then when I come across a ringed planet, I just have to skim the rings, quite often dropping out of SC to fly through and out the other side! It is just so immersive.
I'm in an Asp and the cockpit is just magnificent. Looking below your feet at the star you are fuel scooping, up over your shoulder at distant Nebulae, just marvelling at the sights.
I shall be purchasing a 980GTX early June. I'm wondering if I should stay out exploring until then? I'm worried about the reported stuttering in busy systems.
