Professor Alba Tesreau reports that unidentified objects have been seen near Wregoe SC-X b29-2

All those people (basically 6.6 Trillion of them) who didn’t know the Thargoids existed, thought it was all a political exaggeration or that they were old wives tales or stories to scare children with? Well a huge amount are probably still in exactly the same mindset. Some probably even more so, after so far they’ve turned out not to be some overwhelming existential threat to humanity. And some will no doubt think it’s all a hoax. And I'd expect that belief that it's a hoax to be growing if anything - after all, most of it's still effectively happening millions and millions of miles (literally) away from the every day lives of most people in the bubble.
I don't think this is true any more. Now we can go inside stations and planetary ports and hear PA announcements warning that thargoids can attack at any moment, as well as eavesdrop on other pilot's conversation and hear them discussing their own encounters. While these aren't "regular" people, none of them are claiming the thargoids are a non-existent threat.

Yes, previous attempts to suppress knowledge of the Thargoids have failed and more people know about them now.

However -

Never underestimate the power of human beings to downplay and deny something that isn't in front of their noses. Space stations have been attacked, not planet bases, and then as Ian has pointed out only a fraction of all the space stations that exist. For everyone not in those stations it's not hard to imagine them seeing it as some abstract threat happening somewhere else that appears in the news from time to time but doesn't impact on their daily lives much. They have more immediate concerns, like earning a crust.

When the Alliance took over most of the systems in Witch Head and either squeezed out or reduced the influence of the Imp and Fed factions they both wrote off the Witch Head Sector attacks as "the Alliance's issue". It wasn't them poking around in Thargoid systems and stealing their meta alloys so it wasn't their problem.

The Feds and Imps instantly dismissed the Thargoids as a secondary issue, despite being in the third week of a heavily publicised summit to decide what to do about them, when the NMLA did the 9 Martyrs attacks. They dropped the summit with nothing agreed except a half hearted pledge to share information and focused on those instead. The 9 Martyrs attacks took precedence over all else even though only a few months before, at New Year, we had seen an unprecedented 9 stations attacked by Thargoids, the biggest attack to date at the time. Before that they had already stopped funding Aegis to focus on terrorism at home. They've never needed much of an excuse to sideline the Thargoids or write them off as someone else's problem. If that's the attitude of the authorities why should the average Joe care, and what could they do about it anyway?

I also wonder how long it will be until some Senator in the Federation or Empire comes out with "why are we spending so much on Thargoid research when there are more immediate problems and we haven't been attacked for months?" and, once again, that being used as an excuse to ignore it.

I think I found the ghost of captain Morales, doomed to walk the surface of this desolate world until the fate of the Alexandria's crew is avenged?
You found the signal for a fleet carrier that left the system after you jumped in. Since it is no longer present the POI ends up on/slightly below the surface of the body it was orbiting.

I am in the right system, flew up to 3 of the Degraded Emissions, found the wreckage, targeted the Data Point moved in till the scanner showed blue successfully scanned the Data Point but no logs received. I'm wondering if this is like the previous mystery where only those involved with a particular CG received the trigger message and because I didn't get the original message the logs aren't available to me
I didn't get the email and wasn't involved in the previous CG . I was able to scan the logs. Just saw this post so I jumped there to check it out On xbox series x.

Yeah it was my bad, I expected the logs to show up in the message panel like they used to. I gave up after scanning 3 but then discovered the logs hidden under settlements in the Codex archive so I flew back and got the rest. The audio logs are really good aren't they
