PSA: Jaques Station Mining Services Are Now Open!

Do they restock other things like SCBs, heatsinks, etc?

Sorry for waiting til page 3 to answer this, I got...distracted:

They do restock heatsinks. edit: He sells SCBs, so I mounted one real quick to check for you, and yes, he restocks SCBs too!

I think all of the services that have become available were previously available at Jaques before the attempted jump. They are probably available now because the effect of the UA bombing has finally worn off. In other words, this is something that has happened as part of the normal game mechanic, not because anyone has thrown a switch.

There never was a shipyard, so there probably won't be one now.

4th of august was meant to be mining CG Start date, its 4th today, coincidence mining services were restored ?

Tier 6 of the CG has been passed the hauling one that is, perhaps that was a hidden trigger to restore the 4Rs of services , it got tilted so now its active, additional tiers may have other benefits

Mining CG will now take off that limpets are avaialble, volumes in the last hours have accelerated.

Id also like to encourage other metals picked up as part of the mining process be sold for any hideen background sim benefits (panite, gold silver etc) they will also help avoid lockdown state, which if it locks down we are out of action for 3 days. Some of us are also mining low temp diamonds as well ( buts thats more RP and background sim to keep the investment / boom / expansion states up and lockdown out of the way)

They Added Repair Facilities too...? But.. the Repair CG is not yet finished.. eh?

Got to be honest, this is a shame.

The trip out to Jaques has caused my little Wing considerable module damage, and the trip back to the Bubble was promising to be extremely hazardous and full of jeopardy.. I guess that's been nerfed now.

Some of us actually want challenge and risk!!

I'm also very disappointed to hear about the apparently now wasted efforts of members of the community, to haul quanities of Limpets out in order to help the miners, emergent gameplay style.

I thought FD had suggested their God Modding of CGs was a thing of the past, after the drama around the Federation Pleiades Outpost CG?

The journey to Jaques is a lot, but it is not hazardous or full of jeopardy or risk or danger. Never has been any of that.

If any CMDR arrives at Jaques will less than 100% hull and 100% modules, then its pure and simple the result of an easily avoidable pilot error.

Information is the big problem, changing stuff will always happen both to the better and to the worse. You can't know what will come out from a single action.

The best would be in game bulletins why a change is made. In this case tell us what's happend is it CG, UA or something else... It would be ok with information in the forum.

It nearly turned around to pick up a mining laser when I had traveled 1/3 but decided that I didn't have the time to go it. I feel sorry for those who did. I think it would be acceptable if there was info why.
Maby a commander had delivered meta alloys so the station now was functioning. it had been bad that I turned around and get stuff but good that the other fixed the problem so we all can mine better.

If we had known what would happen and all would be served how fun would that be?

If it takes to much time to put in lore in the game, let the community help. Start a forum with what text you want and let ppl write it, sort out the best to work with the bigger stories and pay them off with putting the names on stars bases or other in game things, maby even a shirt or hat. I'm pretty sure there is Manny talented ppl out there that want to write Elite history.

You can buy up to 10 limpets every 10 min. They completely screwed over the need for us to haul in limpets. Thanks Frontier you guys are always striving to screw the players who actually play your game. Unbelievable. Why can't you just tell us what you plan to do like I dont know maybe 24 hours ahead of time. I've only put a dozen hours into organizing a huge role play, promotional, organizational, motivational effort to secure limpets for miners for the CG. And now FRONTIER totally undercuts us with the 10 limpets every 10 minutes. LOL. I give up. I simply go through life now wishing I had never taken a chance on this game back in May.

How long would it take for you to come up with this? Or floating around to all of the associated discord wings we are allied with. Nobody from Frontier could give us a heads up as to their grand plan even though I had been in contact with them just the other day. I really feel like why even bother creating content for the game when they are just going to change the gameplay in the MIDDLE OF THE FRAKING CG!

very very cool layout bud......I do admire the dedication you guys have,i can see you fellas desperately trying to play this game and uncover the future gameplay stories and all that jazz.

just a shame FD don't have the same passion

There is more than our market that need to be repaired on that station and I think jaques want to be abel to fly it again.

If you want hazardous don't repair it, no one is forcing you.

This thread shows that FDEV can't do anything right again. Not because they are unable to, just because the community doesn't agree on what's right or wrong.

I think it more shows that communications is the issue. It was reasonably predictable that limpets would become available, but if fdev had just chucked up a galnet article two days ago giving a bit of flavour text, well people would still complain, but not half as much.

Good for you! Thats not everyone's experience though, so what's your point? That FD are right to engage Easy Mode, because you think it's easy anyway..?

i agree - and I dont think this is a godmod as it makes sense as partial services are restored as the station repairs itself? - if anything its more helpful to people who are already out there but with no mining equipment - but people do like to moan

I think the biggest issue is that the CG started too early, otherwise the problem wouldn't exist (more and better communictaion is always welcome though). Most people spend 1-2 weeks flying to Jaques, I don't think a Galnet article two days ago would've changed much. Anyway, I don't really have a opinion on this, I honestly don't know what is right or wrong :)

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Broadly speaking in my mind this boils down to two camps of mindsets

(i) Those who work within the confines of set rules/mechanics (such as Long Star and their fantastic effort to get some traction on this CG going) and are happy to accept the difficulty, hardship or challenges it presents.

(ii) Those that aren't happy with anything that throws an obstacle between them and achieving a victory, who know through prior precedents that if you complain loudly enough, Frontier will cave and probably adjust goalposts to suit their needs.

This CG could have been interesting and multi-faceted, with people in smaller ships doing a lot of the work and reaping the lions share of the rewards due to their less reliance on limpets and also their greater jump ranges making the journey less arduous. Or one where teams and community co-ordination lead to victory being achieved.

Instead we've got another bland i-win event for the single-player winaconda kids, who's only concern is being in the top 10% to earn the most pretend credits, and pushing the tiers as high as possible purely for the same reason (I miss the days of more complex CG's where dependent on the tier achieved, the outcome varied, such as Obsidian Orbitals construction, but then the same mindset spoiled that because they didn't like the idea that they hadn't achieved a 100% victory through their efforts).

Like many others it seems, I flew out to Jaques, arriving yesterday, very chuffed with my completing the journey in one piece, and planning my build correctly. Worked hard to get the Engineering Level 5 FSD upgrade on my conda, outfitted for mining, took some power gennys for the first CG and a stack of limpets.
Did a little mining last night, and went to bed with 20 limpets remaining. This morning I was wondering how I will get more limpets when I run out.
Ok, so now the question has been answered, it just seems a little too easy now though. I was thinking more along the lines of trading with other players for limpets or even flying out my 2nd commander account out here for a supply run. I imagined being attacked at some point, with limpets becoming a sought after commodity by others. This little story had great potential, now I do have to wonder...

Good news everyone!

The limpet issue's been fixed!

As of 3 AM PST I was able to buy as many limpets as necessary, no more transaction server errors or limit of 10 stuff going on - huzzah!

Not really. Things change. We don't know why they do. They just do. Which leads to confusion and frustration. Frontier are amazing, but they just repeatedly struggle with communication.
