Good to know - surprised no-one else has spotted that...
They have.
No workaround, no temporary fix.
Just got to wait until they can be to fix it. Although they'll probably break something else while they're at it.
It's FDev, they take forever to acknowledge and then fix game-breaking issues. Best thing you can do is not give them your time. The game is designed from the ground up to waste your time and keep you logged in grinding meaningless progress bars and sitting waiting behind massive timegates. They can then claim this is player engagement, and signs of a healthy video game in a competitive market. Don't log in, don't add to the hours people waste that the developers can falsely equate to meaningful mechanics and depth of content.
I have pretty much quit playing because of it.
Yep it's allover the place, and very ANNOYING

Yup, it's a very lethal bug.
I dropped in to my favourite VO hotspot, in my trusty Anaconda and deployed my scanner.
And everything shutdown, shields, engines, weapons, everything, as a I slowly drifted towards the asteroids, being scanned by pirates.
Thank god they don't demand limpets anymore!
Quickly switched off my SCB, and all was fine.
