PSA: Open is carnage and I expect them to follow us all the way

Technically, we are *not* parasites, but simple predators taking advantage of an easy meal.

DW2 is just the tool we are using to maneuver our prey into position for the takedown.

With no watchdogs or shepherds to protect them, sheep gonna be sheep.

People clamor for roleplay until it is given to them.

Then they just don't want to participate.

We're gonna RP as bad guys.

They're gonna go play a different game entirely.

We win.

Not really "predators" - your're not killing to consume the remains, you're killing for sport. Both humans and several animal species do it.

I really do hope you follow them all the way to Beagle.

I also hope we find out how many pilots get their loot/data restored in Fleetcom.

This whole event is making a wonderful point about the game mechanics.

Well, akshully...

There's this rumor that we can take something from people now.

But I'm not the type to spread rumors...

Go ahead. I'd love to see you go 5,000 LYs for that. In fact, I dare you! :)

"I'm off at some organisers, so I'll shoot some players who had nothing to do with it" is such a display of maturity is it?

And the tone you need to put to my posts is a mocking one at this ridiculous situation.

Err... some of us have been there and back three times now.

Feels pretty silly considering they moved a shipyard in next door.

Personally - I think it's completely delicious :D

We're most likely going to get snowed-in this weekend, so I shall prepare plenty of food and booze and UPS's (in case the mains goes, again) and spend as many hours as I can extracting salt from as many pew-pews as possible in my humble little Sidey.

The screenies alone fill many lulzbuckets.

Youve not won anything, as it seems to have no impact on the expedition at large or its mission. If theres a RP reason for attacking explorers, it hasnt been made clear by anyone. Null's bit about postponing the "heat death of the universe" is pretty weak.

Whats the actual point to it other than frustrating people who'd rather not deal with it?

That's because the RP caveat is just an excuse. Give them a RP reason and it's immediately not good enough.

In the end they are just sore about having their spaceship blown up.

True, parasites are a part of nature. You're leeching on to DWE2. DWE2 doesn't need you, you need DWE2. You are DWE2's side show. DWE2 is the main attraction.

Only if you consider African Hunting dogs, Tigers and Polar Bears "parasites," I guess.

This whole thing is something else.

Jase and Vin get thrown out of a chatbox, and they've been butthurt ever since. The same players who mock people who get upset at losing a pixel spaceship have been trolling the forums and gwanking explorers out of a hissy fit because the organisers showed the kind of foresight they themselves were demanding.

The irony is delicious and is available in bucketloads :) It's a joy to watch.

Butthurt? Nah man. I can't speak for Vin, but for my money this has been the most fun I've had playing ED in a very long time.

I'd be a bit surprised if they followed the expedition *all the way* frankly. Destroyed explorers will respawn at Omega, and eventually at A*, with everything they need to continue exploring. But eventually combat ships have to repair and rearm, and the nearest place to do that will be an increasingly long trek, especially for a combat-fitted ship. And if one should happen to have an accident in an inhabited system ... it's a pretty long way from the nearest detention center.
