I just docked at Omega in open. Completely quiet, not a single CMDR around, only NPCs.
I would *maybe* buy this for engineering or CG decals. But it's irrelevant to exploration. Outside of hotspots, recreational player-killers are too rare to matter.
Python with these shields:
Could you post a "typical" PvP build (especially weapons with applicable engineering) for something we might come up against? I'd like to run some tests on Coriolis vs. my shield stats.
I could blow that up in maybe two salvos with my exploration build.
I'm in a Krait MkII carrying 3x overcharged Pacifiers and 2x overcharged medium cannons.
Ah Bob, we're almost in the exact same thing![]()
Nice!
I'm using a 6D PD with no problems since it's all kinetic.
Still getting just over 50ly!
Have you been following along with DW2?
More explorers have been killed in the past few days than probably in the past year, I would hazard to guess.
Do you have access to Lei Chung, and whoever the engineer is in Leesti?
Well, this would be,..., interesting. [big grin]
Sure, my stuff is all G5, mostly geared towards collision damage, though, just raw shield booster capacity.
My point exactly. The activity at the WPs isn't exploration, they're social hotspots like any other CG. I'd hazard that the number of explorers killed while exploring or traveling between the published gathering points is lost in the noise of bad landings and botched neutron boosts.
For DWII I've been mainly in Fleetcom since that's where the people mostly are. But when I'm exploring in ordinary times, I fly in Open and aside from Guardian and Thargoid stuff I can't remember the last time I saw another player more than a couple of jumps outside the bubble.

Space parade of thousands is more like a locust migration than exploration.

Harry is closer to you than me, and I was instancing with him for days without even being on the friend list.
Maybe you have a firewall issue or some other network related problem.
Without knowing your build, it's hard for me to say what you're running exactly. But here are a couple ideas for you...

As for armor, what are you running?
Thanks, but my build was decided many months ago, and, as I said, is mostly geared towards collision survivability on high G planets and not PvP.
I might fly in open over the next week from time to time, and maybe also around Sag A*, but otherwise, I'm mostly in the PG anyway, so the question how long my shields would last is mostly academic.![]()

Harry's Anaconda is around 3000DPS as I recall.
So he could kill you a few times over in one salvo.
Sure, but not unless I'm within a dozen jumps of a respawn station.
So, as I said, the whole question is academic. No one in the expedition will allow himself to be killed out in the black after months of exploration.
You guys will have some fun over the next week, and maybe also around the time we're at the Sag A* station, but after that, you won't see anyone in open any longer.
