I get the feeling PZ was designed with these things in mind from the start, so it's probably a little different. Though if that's how the existing ready made exhibits work, that'll probably be how aviaries would work. Of course there might be exceptions, considering there's already 3d movement in the form of semi aquatic species.I’ll have to check them out sometime. I currently don’t have this dlc pack atm. I’ve watched them on YouTube and they look pretty neat even if animations are looped. There’s a lot of speculation if PZ has aviaries the birds will be ran off the same system and that’s good enough for me quite honestly although I do agree the more animations you can add in the looped cycle adds a little more realism.
Actually, I was thinking that maybe the aviary itself can be a feeder of its own so that you can look after your Pteranodons a bit more, where you can have a ranger team enter from behind the aviary where a doorway is, then play a script sequence of them driving down the caged path on the ground, exit out of it, fish will automatically appear in it, then the team will drive out, and once out of the aviary, you can use them again.
The Pteranodons are unique entities from the other dino entities, yes, but not completely different I don’t think. I think they can still have hunger enabled for the sake of balancing out that caring idea.
Pteranodons feeding from the lake I agree can be a good future addition, but I think this little idea of mine can be an opportunity to do a little more for both them and the aviary, instead of being a mere cosmetic feature. They do have fish listed as their diet type, by the way, just like how the four spinosaurs in-game are listed to being able to eat fish from the fish feeder.
Well, I see fish swimming around in the aviary’s lake, rather than in a feeder. The lake would be their feeder, making the entire aviary as a whole to be it’s own feeder entity at its own unique right. Perhaps they could either dive bomb into the lake and snatch a fish, just like how they dive bombed in the Mosasaur’s lagoon in Jurassic World and what is currently the accepted scientific method of them catching fish. Or they could just swoop across and snatch up a fish like some sea birds do, or just land on the side of the lake and pluck some out from their position.Currently, the Pteranodon was less organic. There is no way it could survive without food. Suppose the fish feeder is inside the aviary, would Pteranodon swoop or perch on the feeder?
There are varying animations for how the spinosaurs position themselves before catching a fish from the fish feeder, so there’s no reason not to think they could end up deciding to expand that elsewhere here with the other current existing dinos like the Pteranos themselves.Adding more animations shouldn't be too difficult, considering they're looped based around resting locations.
