PVP in ED? Enough already, this isn't a PVP game. Forums plugged up, too much.

Hmm, I think you're right. I very surprised that it only has co-op multiplayer.

I was technically mistaken, but certainly not lying, and I was only off by one out of ten (or eleven if you count MWLL) Mechwarrior PC games released since 1995.
Still doesn't change the fact that MWO is a PvP game where you can have a Flea fighting against a Dire Wolf, so it still flies in the face of the OP's original question.

what do you mean, "technically"? you were wrong and that's it, don't try to act otherwise. technically. lol. as a side note, last mech game i played i loved so much, mech assault. nostalgia. first xbox live game that had multiplayer pvp IIRC, or unreal championship.

are there magically cargo mech's in MW? I haven't played since 2002, I don't remember non combat mechs in the games though? Or any mechs that' aren't meant for PVP? Or titanfall? The little titans have no balance vs the big ones? Elite has nothing. It allows pvp combat, doesn't make it any kind of meaningful pvp game (aside from CQC)

Way to act like a total clown 🤦‍♂️

Calling Morbad a liar, telling everyone their opinion is just wrong. The arrogance on display here is breath taking.

Unfortunately its a common theme, just because some rando doesnt personally indulge in pvp they think its fine to invalidate the players that do.

The fact is there are thousands that pvp for their slice of fun, regardless of claims to the contrary.
These players dont look to invalidate trading, exploring, goids etc, they would just like to see some meaninfull additions to pvp gameplay, hence all the threads.

To blithely dismiss these players, call them wrong and undermine their choice of playstyle based on your own preferences is the height of arrogance.

What makes you think that someone is trying to lure solo players into an open game? Let them continue playing solo. People from an open game ask for balance in an open game, ask for the elaboration of Pvp and in principle the interaction of players in an open game, and no one asks people from solo to come in the open. Believe, with a good balance and elaboration of these mechanics, players in open mode will significantly increase even without solo players.
And there you go, assuming the majority of those in open play need or want PvP. But deflect to the solo players if it makes you feel better, I guess. This isn't EvE, most people here, regardless of mode, aren't looking for a gankfest simulator.

As in strictly speaking, but not in essence.

Nine out of ten games proves my point just as well as ten out of ten would have.

Elite has nothing. It allows pvp combat, doesn't make it any kind of meaningful pvp game (aside from CQC)

What makes CQC more meaningful than either organized or organic PvP in the main game? I've played a fair bit of it all, and I sure wouldn't use 'meaningful' to describe CQC.

Actually, balanced doesn't really come to mind either:

Ooooh I'm loving this thread so much. Dude your arrogance is so strong theres almost a purity to it and its hilarious.

So how did it happen? Were you flying a cargo ship and got jumped or were you actively trying to gank people youself and got the Raxxla beat out of you? I'm betting on the second scenario.

And I'm not here for gangfest. And I don't like gangfest. If the game was based on Pvp destroying each other I would not play it. Maybe you don't know, but EVE isn't based on gangfest. In a General sense, the term PvP can be used to describe any game or individual game aspect in which players compete against each other. Why do many people consider Pvp only the destruction of each other? Players can only compete and resist by destroying each other? I want a healthy atmosphere of open multiplayer, balanced, gambling and honest, but not based only on "destroying the player by the player".
In fact, I support the author of the topic. ED is not a Pvp game, but Pvp in the General sense is necessary for open play. Fdev does not see this problem for players who are concerned about the issue of Pvp and therefore these people have constantly raised and will raise this topic. I will clarify "They do not call solo players in an open game", they want that their open game mode, which differs from other modes just by the possibility of confrontation between players, was not forgotten.

I see a section in this forum... mhmmm lets see how it is called....ah! "Playstyles; PVP, Powerplay, CQC " :ROFLMAO:
PvP adjective
GAMING
  1. short for player versus player.
"when you die in a PvP battle you lose a level"

(Sorry, I couldn't resist <3)

Then, try suggesting something.

Something short of OO. I've been in this debate since the game's release. The only suggestion the Pro-PvP crowd ever makes insists, somehow, on forced participation in PvP. First it was 'drop Solo/PG', that went on forever, then after Sandro's 'handgrenade' (his description) the cry has become 'open only'. No other suggestions gets any traction from the PvP side. This is self defeating.

When the PvP crowd can conger up an idea that doesn't include forced participation, I'm sure the forums will see many get behind the idea. If for no reason other than to see the crying end.
