Common knowledge from a point of gaming and system architecture.
I don't think "common knowledge" means what you think it means...

the problem lies with the moderators employed on the forums far to strict and harsh and frankly the anti pvp player base bunch of babies that they areI know we have heated debates, but recent events sadden me.
I recently visited a PvP discord. I learned that they were hosting a PvP event. I asked why they weren't posting it here on the official forum, and the reply was:
"Forums aren't the place for pvp. Posters only cry about it, mods don't like it. Everyone who would be interested is on reddit or on the discord servers we posted to."
The one I spoke with didn't care to elaborate, so I'll just leave the comment here. But I'm genuinely surprised that the official forum isn't considered the goto platform for all who play Elite: Dangerous.
Maybe I'm just unaware of the importance of reddit and discord. Or that this forum was considered toxic by PvPers. I asked if it would be frowned upon if I shared the event here, and got no reply. Consent through silence I guess. So here's a link. It sounds like fun:

i'm a PVE player, does that make me part of the 'crap' tier of players ?

You almost got the point.Maybe its language thing. I was taught a common knowledge is a something known to everyone.
No, that's just your very subjective opinion. It has nothing to do with being a game or "IT system designer" (which is, BTW, just laughable).I mean Runis proposed how game should be designed, and i wrote he have right, and its well known (rather should be) to everyone who is game or IT system designer.
I guess it comes down to your definition of PvP?
I suspect most players in OPEN couldn't care less about if other CMDRs want to PvP or not. I suspect it's only a concern to them when PvP sadly becomes an excuse just to interdict and destroy anyone/everyone, unfortunately because:-
1) The game offers next to no other options for PvP gameplay.
2) It does next to nothing to penalise such (in game) pointless behaviour.
I suspect when CMDRs feel they are being interdicted and destroyed, without even the attacking CMDR caring about in game reason enough to even bother scan then, it seems so cynical that it's just frustrating.
The main problem in the game is that it in truth it doesn't really orchestrate/offer PvP. Log in to ED now and go and fight someone... How will you do it? Sign up to a mission/task with some friends to go and attack/defend something, knowing a wing of other CMDRs will being fighting against you? No... You can't do that! Almost the only avenues open to you are to, (a) liaise with friends to organise a "friendly fight" for no ingame reason/outcome, (b) interdict/destroy other CMDRs who most likely aren't interested/equipped for a fight, for no ingame reason/outcome.
So the main problem IMHO is PvP all too often is just confused with mindless/pointless interdiction and destruction of CMDRs not interested/outfitted in PvP (at the time). And the frustrating thing is that the game doesn't offer any real alternatives to this and/or doesn't really penalise it.
You tell me!
You almost got the point.

well, i didn't know there was a 'crap' tier of players, seems you know more than me about it.
Never though I'd need to tell a playerbase so considerably constructed of veterans from over three decades ago to grow up, but hey.
Depends, do you want to go AFK at a CZ farming credits in a turreted shield tank?
Yes it is. Talk to any system architect or game architect and he will laugh when he will hear about Open/Group/Solo, PvP/PvP implementation and player interaction in Elite.
It was fake because it's sole intent was to rile people up. I distinctly remember the ad had expletives in it. It was a picture so the filters wouldn't pick it up and it could well interpreted as an insult to non-pvp players.
