So has anyone else managed to enjoy some basic PvP in this game? I got quite a few people to fight me off the stations today.

I only took a picture of the type-6 I killed. I did manage to get in a fight with an eagle, and then a sidewinder joined into help him. Shame I didn't get a video, but I was too busy trying to win.

So anyone else got pictures/videos of PvP?

Sidewinder attacked me off the station, and we had a nice little fire fight. I still haven't found a player in an anaconda though.

Then how have I managed to fight several players? I've killed multiple player haulers, eagles, sidewinders(noob ship needs nerf) and a viper. All this being done in a sidewinder with loaned lasers.

The viper was just terrible at the game though.

Good to hear some people embracing multiplayer. Fighting each other is probably the only multiplayer aspect of this game considering it's just single player with multiplayer on the side.

err i think your kind of forgetting coop play - one guy in a type 9 with an escort of friends in vipers, or missions that require more than one person to complete.

PvP is only one small aspect of what the finished game will bring to the screen - lots more to come yet and as its the beta it will be here Soon™ ;)

Yea, it's honestly embarrassing how poorly people respond to an attack. The type-6 I have in the top post panic'd, flew into the station, and got stuck in the docking bay while I was killing him. Poor guy.

You could be very aggressive with this though. The station only responds to player aggression if you shoot the station, and you can kill off all the npc police officers. Players have free reign over stations at the moment.

Someone attacked my Lakon 9 as I was entering the toaster...
First I heard about was my computer telling me I am under attack, then they blew up!
I assume the station defended my honour! :p

Nope, they messed up and hit the station. The station only responds if a player attacks it.

Honestly think it's great that someone is actually trying to PVP especially in the basic ship, nice job Spinel, thank heavens the universe isn't going to be populated with just Carebears, how boring that would be?

He's actually doing the game a service.

Coop play and PvP. All great. Love it all. Multiplayer ftw. Shame there isn't an "multiplayer only online mode" where online and solo play isn't integrated. Now that's a dream right there.

Eh who cares. I quit taking you seriously after further reading your posts. Sidewinder needs a nerf? Why? Because you shot down a couple moderately more expensive ships?

People advance at different rates in the game and considering the sheer amount of new participants, camping outside a station and exploiting the fact that it doesn't do anything (unless shot) is nothing to brag about.

Go to extraction zones or conflicts/distress. You are more likely to find higher skilled players there.

Eh, the sidewinder needs a nerf because it's disproportionately powerful with just the starter weapons. That statement was made in tongue and cheek though. Or I'll find no one, I went into the conflict zones and didn't have a single player enter my instance. You've got the highest chance of getting a fight on the stations.

I'm not bragging about it. It's the easiest way to get PvP. I'm also not exploiting anything, it's the way they designed the security system. The players who really know what they're doing will instalogg the moment I'm about to kill them, and I've already had it happen several times.

What about cooperation?

Plus multiplayer is hardly on the side, but whatever.
