Just playing around with my Python in Coriolis, I got 41-44Ly in an exploration build.

With my not particularly good FSD mod (47.4%)

2A power plant is plenty of power and 4D thrusters fit with the mass this low.
4D PD still boosts with Engine Focused mod.

I dont have that issue on my asp .... i dont have anything in the secondary slot. Weapon less, so i only have the ADS. No need for heatsinks.

I loved exploring in my Python, I even went out to the Heart and Soul nebula near the Formadine Rift in my armed Python (pre-engineers) with around a 22ly jump range and then again after I had engineered it a little bit. But I still had nowhere near the range you have.

You should be fine. As an added bonus the Python looks fabulous in all the screenshots you will take.
