Oh hey its me, i hope you didn't miss me too much.
As we all know by reading the latest announcement, key content is getting cut out, because uh reasons and they need more manpower for next paid expansion or whatever you call it anymore.
Many people think I'm a childish whiner or something by now coz i never said anything positive on the forums.
But you know, if i thought everything is right with the game, i would be play it instead and giving Fdev more money to continue developing it, but at this point i just can't..
Look, I played this game since beginning, i have around 2000+ hours on steam, and under 1000 off steam, I played it a lot, it helped me out of depression when my personal stuff crumbled into pieces. I still remember flying my vulture in open and doing high res bounty hunting because hazres didn't exist back then. I remember first interdiction with player and how I won it against hobo ferdelance, which complimented me after for lasting for so long and even winning, since i was around Dangerous rank back then. Now I am triple elite soon.
I became big part of powerplay PvP community, you can ask any, major faction elite pvpers and powerplay leaders. Federation ones where i made friends over discord which i been friends with for a while, then got banned for treason for defecting to empire. Empire, i have very good relations with lavigny discord and reddit part. I helped them secure many expansions through patrolling in open and what not. Then i left them with good terms since i saw they didn't need my help anymore, so i went to alliance as independent pilot and started helping them out with PvP part since that's where they lack most, made some good friends that I have fun with to this day.
As you can see, Elite have been big part of my early adulthood until now, something i have big memories with unlike any other game, ever, the community is amazing on this part.
Last thing i want to see this game fail, i truly do, that's why me and many other people complain so much on this forum, and sometimes it angers me when i see people say thats everything is right with the game and they see no issues so i'm just a pointless whiner..
I have always been trying to get friends to play this game with me, because i found it so much fun and enjoyed where the game is going, at least until engineers happend, i even made my partner play it here and there, got good memories there too. Sadly what she said in the end when i asked her why is she not wanting to play it by any means... "i will play it again once they release some actual content" and that was a bit of a wake up call for me, especially since 3 of my other good friends stopped playing it, then people in our player faction started going absent, i just don't like where this is going.
I already got rather worried when i seen what kind of mess have early horizons been, especially engineers, seeing big faces of powerplay leave because of what happend with the game and how much of a big grindfest this game became when the new asset, materials, became a thing. PvP is unplayable on random encounters, because you have to be engineered and properly equipped to it, and many other things.
Beyond kinda gave me hope that they finally stopped thinking they created best game ever and started fixing core game (when i bought game, i was already worried of fdev being narcissistic by saying "we are making game we want to play")
Look Fdev, I wouldn't care that you are making other games like dinos and happy cartoon park with money that you made with elite, i would actually encourage you to do it, but how do you even dare to start making other game out of elite money, and even make yourself publisher to use even more spare money on. While this game is in DIRE need of manpower and assets to improve and fix very major and core issues that's been there for very long time. Do you not care about the game anymore ? What happend to Braben ? I haven't heard from that guy for so long, maybe i missed something, i don't know.
I very much would love to believe you have some big parts in your sleeves and something big and great is coming and all that, but how much have you said that past 2 years, and how much were many people disappointed ? I cant bring myself to believe you are actually legit anymore. I understand the "white knights" still having faith in devs and believing them hard and giving them support, but many people just cant anymore, that's why you see so much negativity on forum these days.
I honestly just got myself No Mans sky and i will try and see what this tiny studio managed to make compared to elite myself, the only reason left im still playing and hating on the game is because i keep supporting my player faction to push through expansion, bgs, and now there is even special event in one system im not allowed to talk about.
Just my few bits, don't fail me Fdev, Q4 is your breaking point like many youtubers have already told you. I am just sad while downloading another space game right now.
