Newcomer / Intro Question About Gal Map Filters

Do the Gal Map filters reflect actual system info, or info based the last time a cmdr visited the ingame system?

1) Star Class (G type, B type, A type... ):
Obviously this filter shows actual system info because it shows us the star class of systems not yet visited by anybody.

2) System State (War, Boom, Civil Unrest, Outbreak):
Does the system state update if nobody visits? Or does it require any cmdr to visit the system to update the Gal Map info?

3) Civilization (None, Human, Guardian, Thargoid):
I assume this shows None until any cmdr visits the system. I also assume this requires a cmdr to actually locate a site, not just arrive, fuel scoop, & jump. Am I correct? Otherwise Guardian systems wouldn't be much of a mystery.

Example of Gal Map showing Guardian locations. Not visited by myself, but by other cmdrs.

Guardians was based on only the systems we had found at the time (don't think this has changed)

For instance this Guardian site was only found recently and isn't shown as Guardian on the map (but it is valid)

System: Pencil Sector BQ-X b1-4
Body: b2
Type: Bear

Thargoids is probably the same. It's only the surface sites so hasn't needed to change. Will be interesting to see what the newly recovered Matrix sites show as this week.

Everything else in filters is current state AFAIK. Things like Mat traders are based on personal journeys, obvs.

Very interesting. That suggests that maybe sensitive or 'secret' info is updated in the Gal Map only manually. Perhaps a very smart idea on the part of FDev in case of a bug, server hacking, or whatever future unintended event that could inadvertently give away ingame secrets. Or maybe there was no easy way to separate secret stuff when sharing data with 3rd party tools.
