So here's a little thing i've been confused about for awhile now.

I know that you can get merits for underming your opponents ships by interdicting while in supercruise or doing a conflict zone in a system that's having a fight.

So the question here is : Why don't we receive any points for killing our opponents ships in random other systems while we do lose points whenever we kill ships from our allied power in any system?

It doesn't really make sense to me :x
