Powerplay Question about PowerPlay

So if I start PowerPlay to get the special weapons'n'stuff, how exactly does it work?
Let's say, I want the Hammer and Prismatic Shield. I have to one faction first, then as soon as I got the special item to the other.
However, am I still able to buy for example the Hammer after leaving the faction? Or do I have to buy several of them for each class and store them somewhere to be able to use them?

Hope it's clear what I mean, otherwise let me know.

To get a module you need to be with a power for 4 weeks, and in the 4th week earn 750 merits to get to rank 3 to unlock it. Unless you keep rank 3 or above you have 1 week to buy the modules you want before your rank decreases and it becomes locked again.

You have to repeat the above for new modules of other powers. Once you have them, they are yours but you cannot buy more from a previous power unless you repeat the process.
