Question about scan Geological site...

Guys, a simple question... After I found a geological site, in Odyssey what I should do for scan it?

I believe - though have not tested in Odyssey - for geological formations you should go in SRV, in Analysis Mode (blue hud).

Point your reticule at the formation and the HUD will beep, and glow, showing it's ready to scan. You need to make sure you have Composition Scanner set up in a firegroup, fire and hold while keeping your target reticule on the object, the scan takes three or four seconds.

Let us know how you get on and good luck o7

I remember this on base game, but in odyssey i even don't have the pin on geological things...
I really don't know how to scan it.
Honestly i don't remember if i put the exploration mode on, but anyways it should show the pin on it, right?

If by pin you mean target no, I don't think you have to. Geology markers are quite different in Odyssey, as you may have noticed. There aren't specific sites like there used to be. You might know all this but might help ..

go into orbit are scan / map the planet .. if geology (or biology) is present you will see big patches which you can filter at the top of the scan screen for the formation type you're looking for. land in a location within that blue patch and look for formations. when you spot one (can be visually, though crystal stuctures and pebbles might help you to find geology) use SRV composition scanner as above. the handheld device on artemis suit is for biology only (i believe)

For biology i don't have problems, it works very well, heatmap works often but is ok.
I must make more practice with geology, i'll try to spot again a fumaroles or another things... i'll check :)

Yeah .. they're kind of all over the place within the heat map as far as I can tell. It's tons better than Horizons (as long as they are scannable of course but pretty sure they will be .. bugs notwithstanding). I've been seeing quite a few around crash and impact sites .. just watch out for commandos if you land there though. o7
