They said it's proving to be a big technical challenge and they are looking into it.Is anything going to be done to remove the repeating patterns?
Nice try.... oh youIs anything going to be done to remove the repeating patterns?
Well.... There is.Nice try.... oh you
but....
There is not patterns here.
they are not even similar...

To answer the OP, I honestly do not think anything will be done. Frontier is showcasing their new coloring system (which I think looks great) using planets that show clear pattern repeating, like the one I highlighted above. I'm pretty sure it's here to stay.Is anything going to be done to remove the repeating patterns?

As someone posted, you can see it in real planets too, and once you are convinced it's a major issue you will see patterns even when there are none. Like staring at clouds.Nice try.... oh you

I think the "rage" (frustration in my case) is that it's a downgrade from Horizons. I'm not talking planet tech in general - I fully admit that the screenshots shown in the latest dev diary post are pretty darn amazing. Rather I'm specifically thinking of the very obvious "in your face" repetition seen in at least some planets, something I've never noticed in Horizons (not counting obviously natural repetition like round craters). But just to put it into perspective, FDEV aren't the only ones having this issue, people rage about it on the forums as if it's a thing unique to FDEV, but other games that model planets also have similar texture issues that are "difficult to resolve" also.

Well.... There is.
It's not too bad though.
That triangular bit is so visible
We must have different definitions for the word "rage".I just don't remember the same sort of rage then as we are seeing now!
This is nitpicking IMO, especially when there are far more obvious "in your face" examples. If you have to look for repetition like a "Where's Waldo" book, then that's not really such a big deal. It's the "duplicate stamp" effect that reaches out from the screen and grabs you by the eyeballs which is of greater concern.
Is this an OCD thing? I mean i tap the handle to my front door twice when i leave the house and i was asked recently why i press the lock button on my cars keyfob twice when i walk away, but in my head it’s to make sure people don’t haz my stuffs. Analysing planet surfaces in a game just doesn’t trigger me like 4 tins of beans on a shelf with labels pointing different ways or opening a bag of doritos from the bottom. I just need to understand why this is so important. It feels like one of those youtube videos when people see a rock on mars and instead see an ancient urn or an alien calculator. Is anything going to be done to remove the repeating patterns?
Hmm.Well.... There is.
It's not too bad though.
