Questions for experienced Salvagers.

@ObiW I know T9 are large and you think it's better to go after them BUT each time they jump out of the system, their drone number increase!
In other words: T9 are bugged, and there are no priorities of what they drop (you could wait a long time before getting what you want).
Hunt T6 or T7 to avoid these bugs.
For the PD, i use pack hounds too but i'll try a new build with a weapon considered as "tiest weapon ever" by BGS players: flechette launcher :ROFLMAO: .
It damages thrusters even if the target as shields.
For heavy vessels, it can be deadly because the ship will not be able to move anymore, and you will have time to break their hatch at will.
Harder for T6 and T7.
And for military courier vessels, you can stuck your target with them while you go a little away to take care of their escort ;) .

I tried a few more USS's and hung around agriculture stations in the hope of finding LTD carrying vessels (eventually found a Keelback carrying 10t in a HazRes).

The approach is clear now, and I can reliably extract cargo now using silent running in those Convoy Dispersal SS's.

I also switched the cytos I had on my Phantom with size 3 gimballed, efficient OC'd beams, they work really well to drop shields and I don't have to worry about damage drop off any longer.

Kept the packhounds as they're good for disabling drives, the only remaining problem is the target spiralling at speed so it's not always easy to slow them down via FA Off (it is possible but hard work depending on whether they boosted just before I took out their drives).

The biggest challenge is to find worthwhile cargo - presumably economy and system state affects this... There's just a lot of downtime due to waiting for the right target to spawn and chase USS's, but it's fun every now and then to break up things between mission running, mining and CZs.

The days of raiding T9s with 200+ LTDs are gone sadly. I still have a stash in my FC.
Really, did they nerf that also? Shame if so. It's not like stolen goods fetch a premium anyways, plus the effort involved in obtaining them in the first place.
 
Ok so after a full engineered corvette grind, i installed flechette launcher and tried it on a T7: it has definitly no use in game (too few damages regarding munitions) and a waste of time.
To destroy PD, pack hounds are ok and maybe canons too (didn'ty tried it).
 
Hey, i tried to find sapce pioneer relics lately with a statement: in the game, humanity spreads to 5 systems in their beginning:
  • sol (permit required)
  • achenar (permit required)
  • delta pavonis (rare commodity: Pavonis Ear Grub)
  • beta hydri (permit required)
  • altair (rare commodity: Altair skin)

For me, it was logic to find these relics in one the 5 first systems (looking in stations in both space and surfaces and looking for permanent USS like earth relics in Algol system). I'm in sol right now but have no hope of finding them here (sol is too big :p ).
So i was wondering: even they are not in game (or not obtainable like anomaly particles) or fdev just put them in a place that is out of touch.

Notes :-
Quite often has 1 or 2 Interceptors that float about and scan you and the Items.
They only seem to go Aggressive if you attack them or if they are scanning something you collect at the same time.

These are also found in Piracy threats. Easy to pick up in a t7 or other non suspicious ships.
 
i know im very very very late to this party, but i too am looking for some pioneer relics and time capsules, havent had any luck with them so far.

AI relics, antimatter, SAP8s (and other things like hafnium, military plans, etc) can be found in military courier vessels in systems at war. usually in a vette, conda, or cutter in wing. interdict and hatch break them to get the goodies.

trinkets are plentiful and extremely easy to get in comparison. Head down to the seagull nebula and sit at the nav beacon, there is a higher spawn rate for ships carrying them. disable their drives, hatch break them, and steal the trinkets. i currently have almost 300 tons :p

I would love to know if ALL of these exist in the game as Legal Salvage before I spend 100s of hours more looking for them.
They are listed on the FC as Legal Salvage but not sure they haven't fallen victim to a bug or update over the years that has removed them.
For example AI Relics used to appear in the old "Strong USS" type as a bait pirates would place. This system was removed in favour of a new system of USSs.
Though we do not know if AI Relics where added anywhere else to the loot tables.

Anyway as always any info would be welcome.

btw Political prisoners are not cargo

I have most of the above list but they are all marked illegal.
Your biggest chance to find these are in NHSS; except the known and unknown ones like resp. Ancient Artefact and gene banks.

Your biggest chance to find these are in NHSS; except the known and unknown ones like resp. Ancient Artefact and gene banks.

Those were an error i made when I copied the info from inara rather than my FC's list of legal salvage.
I have corrected that.

Ive been doing NHSS signal salvage searches Ive documented all my finds so far. But it soon becomes apparent what each threat gives.
