Brilliant, thanks. I am currently completing my Inner Orion Spur Codex entries, about 6,000ly from bubble atm and still have quite a few stops left on my list.
Will contact you when I return to bubble if thats ok ! :)

I have the hostages (can not set an order) and the Jelly's (can not set order due to rare). The rares listed are not availble due to faction incompatibility. The Salavage items listed by you are unknowns as far as I am aware.

Send me a friend request: a.i. grog (pc)
I will do, though as I said to Goemon I am far from bubble atm.

Edit : request sent.

Is there recommended economys to sell these rarer salvaged items at?

Or economys not to sell at?

Do system states have any effect on the prices?

Sadly no

The usual; Boom, public holiday etc all give higher prices compared to normal.. As far as I am aware there is no system type that pays well for salvage. (like industrial wants metals etc) Very perhaps Tourism?

True, not even alien salvage (from guardian sites for instance) pays well. It's a shame, I'd happily spend time wiping alien sites clean from xeno-archaelogical items and carting them back to sell in the bubble, if it didn't pay peanuts. Combine with the fact the SRV can only carry 2 items at a time, and the time investment/profit ratio becomes even worse.

At this point, salvage / search and rescue is just kind of a recycling bin where you can some "recycling reward" for disposing of trash properly instead of dumping into space or leaving it on the ground.

Hopefully the price of these items, rescue items, general salvage and alien artifacts will be reviewed at some point, and finally salvaging can become a career option in the game. They already have everything needed, just need to buff the prices to make them much more inline with the rest of the economy to make it worthwhile.

I'd also love to see search and rescue become an active thing instead of passive at some point in the future, with search and rescue missions to find / help / repair / rescue people from damaged / lost / under attack / on fire / other hazards ships, either in space or on planets (especially on planets).

actually even that isn't necessarily true. if you look at Ian D.s brilliant data at https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/ , the average boom demand price modifier is 1,14 - but it reaches from 3,84 (Platinum) to 0,61 (Food Catridges).

i don't think anyone has tracked state demand price effects for salvageables - and i'm pretty sure that hafnium will follow a different pattern that, let's say, earth relicts.

@OP i think your best sellplace would be another players fleetcarrier.

Hello fellow Collector and Salvage Gurus.
If anyone has been testing the Alpha could you tell me if they have introduced any New collectable / salvageable items with Odyssey ?
I am only really interested in Items which can be Collected. As in items that can be stored on your FC.

Thanks :)

What do you mean by "items that can be stored on your fc"? There's commodity goods you can get on foot which aren't crafting materials or cargo commodities.... included in that is rare illegal drugs and stuff, but "because alpha" there's no concept of any necessarily unique or truly rare items which can be recovered.

Ok and those can be stored on the FC ?
Even though I guess they use a new unit of measurement ? rather than a ton.
Or do we wander around carrying tons, power armour I guess might let us :)

No. .. have you played the Alpha? The inventory is chopped up a bit. They get stored in your ship, but not as part of cargo. Your ship can hold, i can't remember, 200 units of whatever these are called?

So, as far as i can tell we now have
  • ship cargo for usual canister based cargo
  • fc cargo storage
  • engineering material storage

... all as per current game, and then:
  • 1000 units of space for odyssey data
  • 1000 units for odyssey materials
  • 1000 units for odyssey... chemicals?
  • 200 units for 'items'

I have no idea how, if at all, that storage works if at all with an fc, as it seems to follow your active ship.

Thanks m8.
No I haven't played the Alpha.
I get too annoyed when I see mistakes and report them and yet they still make it into the game. So I no longer bother playing the test stages.

Thank you very much for the info though !!

not that i can tell

Chemical waste and Toxic waste found at new Surface signal source Crash Site (with no threat level because with threat level is foot items only.)
That's the only new thing of any interest to Salvage Collectors that I have found so far in Odyssey.

Edit: Oh and I found Bootleg Liquor when ody first dropped but cant for the life of me remember which Surface signal source it was :)
Edit2: As always Im only talking about Legal Salvage not Stolen stuffz :)
