Questions for tomorrow's live stream

Thought I should start one of these. Hopefully we can keep debate to a minimum to focus on questions:

1. What is the purpose of the new ferry when we can fly our ships there in less time than the weekly server tick?
2. Will the ferry and new outpost add anything new e.g. Guardian material trader, a one stop shop for unlocking/buying Guardian tech?
3. Are there any plans to move future voting into the game instead of the forums? We already have a voting mechanism in power play is it possible to retcon this for the new II's?
4. If we do get new Guardian material traders will these be on the same exchange rate as current traders or will exchange rates be altered to a more player friendly level across the board?
5. Will the new multicannons/missile launchers require synth everytime we want to change ammo?
6. What is the liklihood of engineering for Guardian weapons/tech?

If anyone has anything else please add below.

Can't speak for anyone else, personally I'd use it because my actual gaming time these days is next to zero. 2 years ago I had up to 12 hours a day to mess around with ED at home, these days am extremely lucky if I get 1 hour in a week.

Only Guardian tech I have unlocked is the FSD booster (took ages to do it due to not having the time)

I'll see how the whole thing works, but hopefully I can get a departure time, hop out there on the megaship, grab some free time over the course of a month to get what I need for other upgrades, hitch a ride back.

I left the bubble with the DW2 fleet in January, made it as far the Omega Nebula, my ship has been sitting there for nearly 5 months, didn't have the time to fly back.

I don't want a stream of spoilers, so question: could you please ignore all of the above questions?

1) How did the April update happen?
2) How long will it take to fix?
3) How will you ensure it never happens again?
You say that as if every update isn't a bug-ridden disaster of a mess. I've been asking these questions since the FIRST major update on PS4, a year and half ago. The last update really isn't any different than all the rest, broken mess wise, at least not on PS4.

But to answer #2 and #3 - there are glaring bugs that will never be fixed, and it will always happen again (and again and again) 😞

I think Frontier should answer the first question.

Why make a weekly ferry for a 600 Ly run?

That’s a fair question that also highlights some of the genuine problems with Interstellar Initiatives.

See, maybe it's just semantics but I honestly think the April update was "special".

I get that often FDev will implement an update which (to be charitable) will provoke "unforeseen consequences" but it seems like, for this one, they just randomly dabbled with a heap of things that didn't need changing, screwed up a bunch of things that were working fine and created a heap of bugs that weren't even related to the update, itself.

And that's before we even look at whether or not the components of the update, itself, are working properly - which I can't really comment on since I have no access to the Newbie sector and no desire to use either of the new modules.

Only question I have is, "Why is FD so eager to introduce a whole new set of bugs, when they still haven't addressed the mess they just inflicted on everyone?"

Does anyone at FD ever get held accountable for such an obvious debacle? Who makes the decision to just forge ahead while there's so much garbage on the floor left to clean up?

Such an embarrassment.

The only reason they are hoping to attract everyone on board the bus is because ..............
remember the Gnosis

So my question would be
Is this heading for another Gnosis incident?
, but I'm not sure Will would wish to reveal that at this early stage 🙂

I'm guessing the ferry will be a bit more regular than weekly. Otherwise it's kinda pointless.

I'd personally love to sit at a "ferry park", and watch it jump in, unload, reload, and jump out again.

Either that, or the ferry is just a megaship with some good facilities so we can transfer ships and restock lost SRVs, and sell the goodies, that doesn't actually move.
But you can "ferry" your stuff between it and the bubble.

So basically a station.

Apparently it is once a week (well, the two ferries each travel from one system to the other once a week).

So, yeah, I’d like to ask why they thought this was even worth bothering with.

If they are stuck to this once a week business because it can only happen when the server ticks over (Thargsday), then maybe they should think about having a ‘tick’ more often?
