Newcomer / Intro Quick impression and questions

Hello everyone.
So i've been playing quite a lot since release and i must say iz gud game.
Having fun flying around etc but im facing quite a lot of issue, problem and question.

•I was highly disapointed that there's no coop :c it's something that should be implemented ASAP.
I think like lot of people, we want to group up with friend or clan and do mission kinda like how EVE did, take mission, go to nav point, fsd to an instance
and do the mission, it should be something kinda like this. The mission could vary from just kill bunch of dude to take out station etc..

•How the mission from bulletin board actually work???
I know that the canister with an arrow is a simple delivery, 2 arrow are trading and you need to find and bring the requested item but
Hunting etc are impossible to understand. How i'm supposed to find and kill pirate? there's no indication of location of where to find them etc
Same for "go kill this guy cuz blabla", they mark 3 place most of the time and everytime the target never was around...
Those mission need a lot more detail or at least a tutorial to explain them properly like how they are done, if you need certain type of equipment etc..
So if any kind sould can light my lantern

•AI, combat.
Lot of time while i was fighting it felt... awkard.. the AI really doesnt seems to be limited by the ship they use or it's just my ship that is not fitted properly?

Outside that the game is great  i vary between bounty hunting, exploring and soon will start mining :D

1. There is a grouping mechanic which should get you and your group in the same instance. Missions will have to be taken seprately but you can both take the same mission.
2. When you need to kill person X of kill X amount of X. In the mission details it always says in what system(s) you can find those guys. When you are there you have to look voor Unidentified Signal Source (USS). Drop out of supercruise and scan what ever is there. At these USS you will find your mission targets.
3. Not sure what you mean with this?

NPC ships are governed by the same rules as you and I. Maybe it's because those you have come across have a better engine/power distribution/thrusters than you at present?

It can also feel a bit like they are much better than you early on in the game, but generally that's because they are. It won't be long until all but the highest ranked NPC pilots will feel like total noobs to you! :)

i think i get nr 3.
npc's got a battle rating that goes from "harmless" to "elite"
you can see this rating when you target them in your target panel.
general rule of thumb use to be "don't fight things that exceeds your own battle rating to much unless the npc is in a weaker ship"

also its both their ai intelligence (pilot skill) and ship setup that gets affected.
if you meet a high ranking npc expect him to use trickery as chafs or heatsinks, and he will probably be well armed whit for example heat seeking missiles.
it can be a good idea to check out their subsystems before engaging a dangerous target.

Thank for the helpful message ^^
As for the mission, i think i got it even if it's still unclear as i went somewhere and got asked to not kill pirate because dey ar gud ppl in short :p so ended confused xD
If i kill the pirate i get the base reward or the mission changed and i need to return to station?

As for the AI it feel sometimes random :p as i was fighting a competent one and he did nothing while an harmless one was like spray and pray type xD but thank for the advice ^^

Hey man, I feel your pain. Been playing since beta 3 and complained about the same thins.

Grouping mechanics is there, but its very bare bone and limited version of groping, you don't even want to call grouping. They've promised a better grouping mechanics in early 2015, I hope that will also include a proper chat.

The kill missions are generally broken, I had one of those go to system X kill bounty hunters and I was in the same boat as you. Killed a bunch of different NPC's and none affected the counter. Assassination missions is something I've given up long ago, you basically required to find a needle in a haystack, no thanks.

Watch out for AI rank, as higher rank pilots will perform less evasive manoeuvres and just simply point their front end of ship at you, then blast you full of holes.
REMEMBER: You will not outmanoeuvre a high class rank ship in a dog fight, you will not out gun a higher rank ship, but you can outrun him. What works for me is a Beam laser and 1.5-20km distance while providing sufficient amount of power to shields (3-4 pips). The more power you give to shields the stronger they will be and last longer under fire.

One of the things that enables AI to be so extremely manoeuvrable is Flight Assist OFF, it is bound to Z and set to HOLD (put it on Toggle) and will disable flight correction. Thus you can perform such manoeuvre like turning on one spot extremely fast by using TAB aka Engine boost. But you will never get to be as good as that damn AI. If anything avoid engaging Pythons and Anacondas until you get really good at this game because as far as I know, they are the biggest manoeuvrability cheaters in the entire game.

Thank for the help, having less issue now :p
The only left is that i keep getting my bounty stolen by the feds now :l everytime i get a good bounty, take it down to 10% boom, fed come and kill.. they should really give the bounty to you and not having it discarded...
And also apparently feds randomly attack you after attacking a bounty..

Those feds can be a real pain in the a**e! If its not them stealing the kill, they get in your way so you accidentally hit one, then you're wanted! One thing to be aware of is if the criminal you are attacking is of the same faction as the other NPC ships, they will go red, but not necessarily hostile. Check your target is wanted by scanning him before engaging, otherwise you will become wanted.

Turn off reporting in the right panel Functions / report crimes against me . The feds wont turn up , hopefully.

Ooo thank :D that helpfull ^^

Is there a guide somewhere on how to decrypt the specs of equipment for ship?
the few "guide" a pretty much either vague and quick weapon description, "u shud do this bcuz" type of guide.
is there a guide that explain what do what for weapon and internal?

I can give a couple of tips:

All devices have a size (which is a number, bigger is bigger size) and a rating (which is a letter, A is best). Within each size class, rating A is best, though watch the individual specs: some are slightly lighter or heavier, or need less power, etc.

Most devices draw power, which will be listed in the panel on the right; try to keep the power at less than your power plant's max output. More power from the power plant is always better.

All devices have mass, more mass makes the ship slower to steer and shortens the jump range. Cargo and fuel count towards mass, so a half-tank of fuel can sometimes let you jump just a little bit further. How much each device affects your jump range will be shown on the panel on the right.

If your ship is slow at turning, either lighten the ship or get more powerful thrusters.

Power distribution affects the SYS/ENG/WEP pips. Better distributor = recharge shields and boost faster.

Weapons can be fixed (fires forward), gimballed (targets forward, rotating a bit, can be fooled), or on turrets. Turrets have three firing modes, from forward on command only to full auto. Set turret firing modes in the systems panel on the right-hand side of the cockpit.
