I don't honestly know why I'm giving this thread the dignity of a response. But i wanted to write in here that this is an utterly pointless thread which is nothing more than absolute rubbish. I suppose this is what happens when people become impatient, they come onto the forums and post useless threads.
Really the mods should delete these as soon as possible.

Right, so you are saying FD don't care how customers feel if it is a vast minority of customers who feel that way. Sounds like a good business model to me. I mean, surely "just 1 or 2 refunds" is better than ten times that amount? Right?
You know, I understand that some people are ed, I really do, and I understand why, too, to a certain extent but - an impassioned plea from me - please just chill yer boots. Even if you feel a little bit cheated, just get over it, sincerely please? I really want this game released without a hitch, because it deserves to be released, and it needs to be released. And I have to be frank, I think "major overreaction" is an understatement for all of this.

Respectfully disagree. This poll will clearly show it is the vast minority who are significantly dissatisfied; the vast majority are absolutely fine.
I had been considering posting a poll myself.
Pretty much my opinions summed up there as well. It is a game, people. If you're unable to deal with alpha backers getting more than you, take your ball and go home but please stop whining about it.
The people to whom FD are directly marketing the "here's why" are not.
If a few dozen people go nuts and pay an extra 100+£ for that perk, it is absolutely not a problem. Jealousy is bad for you guys. Chill out and be happy for the people who have the little perk. They have payed quite dearly for it.
I have a Type 59 MBT in World of Tanks. I got it quite cheap early on in the game. It's very fun to play, and makes massive amounts of silver (in game credits). Later the price went up a lot, and these days you can't buy one for love or money. A ton of people would want one, but they can't get them. You can only win a code in a giveaway if you're extremely lucky.
Is that fair? Is it utterly messed up and terrible, and everybody should have the same premium tank I have?
Seriously. I don't understand the drama. Some people are alpha backers from the KS. A handful will grab the last chance to become one. Most of us aren't, and later on a _vast_ majority of us won't be. There will be a small fraction of a percentage of the playerbase with the 50% discount deal. It's a very small thing, and nothing to worry about.
Please people, just get over it. This is ridiculous.

Some of the reactions I've seen make this something I would suggest not feeding to the masses. I'd feel badly if someone drank the koolaid over this 'travesty of justice'.
"Participate in the first round private beta test" --- For me, this formulation is without ambiguity. It is not clarified if we participate at the beginning of the beta or at a another moment. So in all cases we participate. The main is that the duration of participation is suitable ---- You should consider happy that DB is not angry. He could give you, just 3-4 days of participation in the beta, if he wanted. Ungrateful band !
And of course, no-one has said any such thing, have they?

its funny, I think (my opinion not saying out and out fact) SC is way more money grubbing than ED is, or hopefully ever will be....
and yet I have happily purchased a tier with an upgraded ship, and *unlike ED* i fully intend to use it and any extra cash i get with my pledge and yet i have never once complained on their forum or voiced dissapointment.
Dissapointment / concern for balance and future "thankyous for paying money" is all i have felt here, I am not furious, I dont think the sky will fall, and I dont really care about beta now being 3 tiers.
The only reason I have said anything here is because I think ED is a v important game, with almost unlimited potential.
SC looks good too, but I guess I compare that game to when I was a teenager and pulled a good looking lass in the pub for a good night out.
I didnt care if she was a bit annoying, after all I wasnt looking for long term commitment.
ED however is like the girl you meet with the potential to be your long term partner.
If she says something which you feel is really out of order you are way more likely to be worried about the future..
but throw the towel in and walk away?
you would have to be nuts imo to do that over this. Keep your current tier, DONT pay more, and play the game when it comes.
That being said, letting FD know you are unhappy is no bad thing - i think they know that now! - as hopefully in the future before they come up with any in game monetary perks, they will say... actually, have some fluffy dice instead.

Ahhh, the old 'skewed playing field' views rear their ugly head again, of course, no one in favour of FD or the 'Go Compare' idea have been whining have they?
No one has been whining on the alpha forums because, heaven forbid, the alpha is buggy and doesn't work sometimes?
Keep it at least semi balanced and your posts can be debated, this one sided view is getting old.
