Combat is still showing at Mostly Harmless I have 53 kills and bounty's claimed of 292,170 credits Should the raking I should have be at Average?

You have no idea, dude. 53 kills is not really much. I got around 500 claimed bounties and i got to "Competent" only recently. So, you are still "novice" at about 400 kills... Also, the quality of kills is taken under consideration...

I'm currently 208 and Competent. I've heard it is ELO ranking, so you gain more "points" by taking down higher ranked opponents.
Cant confirm if that is true or not, but based on reports of different CMDRs being on the same ranking but with differing kills it makes sense to me.

I guess you might be right. I was doing most of my killing in an Eagle, so i naturally omitted Anacondas. It took over 400 cobras, eagles and hauler to get to competent...

I hit Competent at just after 200 Bounties 30 warzone kills. I've killed a fair share of clippers and dropships, and the occasional Pythons or Conda. So it does seem to be tied to kill rank/pay-out somehow judging by when other people hit Competent.

Sitting on 300 bounties and 70 Warzone kills now - still on Competent.

I bet it was a joy though, the eagle is a pleasure to pilot. It's not my overall favourite ship, but it's my favourite to fly.

Of course, its a keeper :). Its full grade A now and the best thing its beam laser doesnt draim power at all, when weapons are set to 4 pips. You just stay behind your target and keep frying it :D. Feels a bit like the victim is an ant and the Eagle is magnifying glass ;).
