https://ravencolonial.com has been going for a while now but I never listed here. Initially a spin-off from SrvSurvey to help tracking colonisation build progress, it continues to grow into it's own thing.

Most recently it got a major improvement on the system page, https://ravencolonial.com/sys, that lets you plan out what you would like to build. It calculates links between ports and supporting facilities, predicting their economies using the outstanding guidance from Cmdr Jayzet, @Wartface and @DaftMav.

This page has lots of tools within it:
  • Warn if pre-reqs are missing. Eg: Relay needed for a Security Installation
    1753313634891.png

  • Filter system bodies based on if they have (or do not have) certain features. Eg: geo signals, volcanism, etc
    1753313568911.png
  • Compare predicted economies against live data from Spansh
    1753300189851.png
  • Snapshot current stats for easy comparison when making changes
    1753300622123.png

  • View/audit the rules used in economy calculations
    1753300904877.png

  • See aggregate shopping lists before you build

This is in addition to two stand-alone tools:

https://ravencolonial.com/table is an interactive table of all things we can build. Click columns to filter. Click build names to see a preview image, the stats, and an approximate shopping list.

And ... https://ravencolonial.com/sys is a tool to visually identify things after construction is complete. Slice by surface vs orbital, sorts by build name or grouped. Shows stats and an approximate shopping list

And … not forgetting the original reason for https://ravencolonial.com ... easily tracking progress at construction sites. Whether working solo or in groups, pre-loading onto Fleet Carriers, or not - Raven Colonial with SrvSurvey tracks it all automatically
  • Auto-track build progress - against single or multiple builds across different systems
  • View aggregated cargo shopping lists for multiple builds
  • Supports teamwork with other Commanders contributing to a single build. Add links to Discord channel
  • Support Fleet Carriers - tracking how much stuff is loaded, showing if it's enough for your projects
  • Smarter hauling - use the custom search tool for finding markets near your customization sites

Hi, the website seems to say we can use this to view details of other players' systems to learn from them? But when I enter a system name the website just shows spinning Loading icons forever. I tried both an unclaimed system and a system that already has a colony. See screenshot...

Give it another try - I fixed some bugs recently and I can load that system today.

Many thanks for that! :)

Unfortunately it's still generally not working. That particular system (Synuefai KJ-S c20-4) loads now, but it's missing the System Architect, it has the primary port's body as "Unknown", and it's missing all the other facilities and construction sites.

I tried another colonized system (Col 285 Sector YU-P c5-13) and it only has the spinning Loading icons.

Likewise for an uncolonized/unclaimed system (Synuefai LJ-S c20-10).

@RadiKyle - there are many things that are not knowable without some manual intervention, as the details in journal files are insufficient.

System architect is not exposed in any journal entry.

As far as I know, orbital ports are not directly linked to a body in journal entries. I will link them if the distance-to-arrival matches a single body, but not if there are conflicting bodies.

Construction sites are knowable, but not if they are complete (not after the fact), so I have chosen to ignore them when importing. Facilities are tricky too.

Col 285 Sector YU-P c5-13 loads for me, as does Synuefai LJ-S c20-10.

The initial import can take a little while at times, but not more than ~30 seconds.

Ok I guess I misunderstood what the tool can do, and what's available to it via the journal / EDDN.

So it will only show orbital ports, but not where they are. And it won't show any other facilities or construction sites in the system, both orbital and planetary.

So players must add everything manually. Ok I didn't realize that.

Those other systems still haven't loaded after ~45 minutes. This has been normal for me since I first tried this tool about a week ago.

It is very odd that those systems are not loading. Do these take a long time?

They're both instant now. Is it some kind of caching issue, like you looking at them somehow tickles them so we can see them?

For that earlier system (Synuefai KJ-S c20-4) I checked Inara to try to see what's available from EDDN. Yeah neither the primary port nor the orbital installation show the planet, only the distance. The 2 planetary constructions sites both give the planet name and the construction % progress. But the orbital construction site isn't even listed. The journal is such a mixed bag 😕

There is server side caching, though it makes no difference who looks first to get it started. I pull data from Spansh not direct journal entries.

That said, if you are running SrvSurvey - that can pull directly from journals.

Please do let me know if you come across another system with similar issue.

Naw EDMC is my only scraper.

Here's some more...

Uncolonized:
Synuefai AZ-I b42-1
Synuefai BZ-I b42-1
HIP 5500
HIP 6601
Col 285 Sector MX-U d2-61

Colonized:
LP 350-74
Synuefai ZY-I b42-1
Hajani
Col 285 Sector WP-M b8-0
HIP 14922

It's honestly almost every system I try. It's rare I find one that loads.
