RAXXLA: Official statement from FD ?

Im gonna say that what happened with this thread about "finding draxxla" was a very toxic post indeed in several levels!

Now, i am 34 jumps away from that system using max jump range, wich in my case on the ASPX is 64Ly, and i was tempeted to do it, and even changed my direction heading there, but, but i didnt had the time to do all jumps and investigate myself, and wont be going now since others have done it already, but i say this is "toxic" because...

This as left some things floating around that arent good for the game at all, since a "conspiracy theory" has arisen, that probrably he did found it and that FD simply shut him up and nerfed the system and Raxxla is no longer there... As bogus as this is, it will make some ppl think that they actually did it, and that is not good.
Also the fact the post got moderated pretty quick doesnt help rebate that.

But hell, its funny to see all the comution around this issue... Says alot about the lore this subject has in the game.

If i was to predict anything (tinfoild hat on), would be that Draxxla is gonna be found next year, right before or soon after the grand 2020 update as a means of implementing stuff, and moving the narrative foward, probrably the adition of a totally new galaxy to explore...

Raxxla was all about conspiracy theory anyway, even since Elite in '84, so not much has changed there.
As to moving it and shutting him up, I doubt it. They could stop him talking here, but the proofs would be all over reddit and youtube. FDev would never recover from that.

Let's see it from the "dungeon-master", or in this case Frontier Dev point of view. Raxxla is anywhere they want it to be, WHEN they want it to be. Sure, they can have it already programmed since the beginning. Sure, after horizons, they can have changed its location to a landable planet, or even awaiting for atmosphere landings to make it in-game. By rules of Dungeon-Masters, not everything is set until the story-plot requires it. Raxxla is a key point to Elite myth, so I think they wouldn't let it be found so easily. Despite that, it's always fun to drop some crumbs, here and there, to keep the players entertained.
Now, in a more serious tone, from all information gathered throughout the various Elite games, and taking into consideration that Frontier Devs won't break the old myth, Raxxla is outside our Galaxy. So the thing to be found will either be a worm-whole, or an ancient alien device that can open one.

Cheers
Athough MB explicitly said that there will be no clues, they put entries about TDW and Raxxla in the Codex. Therefore they want us to find it.

This is what I found on reddit regarding the I found Raxxla post.

I closed the thread because OP edited out his post and it was devoid of any content. Thus the thread was pointless. It wasn't an effort to hide anything.
I'm not disputing that's how it would likely have appeared to you from the perspective of your moderator screen, that the OP edited out his post.

But the entire thread vanished from the forum for about an hour, including all my links to likes, added replies etc. After about 1 hour, it returned with all the previous links and likes under the title of "..."

So I doubt the OP would have had the ability to achieve that.

Curiouser and curiouser !

Are we sure that the assets for Raxxla are actually in the game?

I’m not sure I believe that there’s the ED equivalent of a Stargate sat out there waiting for a player to stumble on it...

A trusty hacker would have found it by now?

And FD would surely want us all to do some kind of monotonous cargo grind to unlock it first... 😂

I think all we can conclude from that is that they want us to look for it. The Formidine Rift search was a proper needle-in-a-haystack, from a clue that was more obviously actionable than the ones given for either TDW or Raxxla (especially for Raxxla, where the Codex article basically says "I don't know either"), but it got people together and talking and playing the game and trying out all sorts of weird stuff (often several thousand LY from the right place) in the hope of getting somewhere.

Actually finding either would probably be an anti-climax.

It probably helps Frontier's cause here that people collectively are utterly terrible at keeping clear which clues refer to which mystery - so for example a mention here of it being on the "eighth moon of a gas giant" (a clue to The Dark Wheel station [1]) is used for Raxxla, or finding that encoding a word from the Formidine Rift mystery with the name of a system gives Raxxla, and sending people on a wild-goose chase to Kwatis [2].

[1] From discussions and experiments on forum threads, the Codex clues to the Dark Wheel station potentially suggest a very promising search pattern could be used - you need to look for undiscovered red giant (or maybe supergiant) stars, which have the eighth moon of a gas giant relatively close by. That's not much vaguer than the Formidine Rift clue, at this stage, so maybe they do want this one to be found in the next few years.

[2] As I pointed out elsewhere, there are quite a few systems which can be ciphered with English words to get Raxxla, with my favourite being Pisati - which needs to be ciphered with the code-word "Brewer" - as in Brewer Corporation, starport manufacturer. Coincidence? Yeah, probably. But feel free to check anyway.

Yes, USSs have been part of the game since 1.0.
Mission "wrinkles" have been introduced to the game after 1.0.

The system in which Raxxla is is quite obviously in the game since 1.0. Therefore Raxxla is in the game since 1.0 - the real question is how obvious is it/was it to find it.

Example: random system XYZ is Raxxla - without anything in that system to identify it as Raxxla players have no way to really find it, but it is in the game ;)

(Raxxla is the journey, not the destination {the biggest myth in ED should never be found})

P.S.: "Raxxla is in the game" doesn't have to mean that there is a location named Raxxla in the game, the lore, the mythos Raxxla is in the game ;)

(y)

TBH, I'm the worst person in the world for trying to analyse stuff like this 'cos a) I only bought ED just after 2.0 was released and b) I'm lousy at remembering obsolete things but I think it'd probably help narrow-down the possibilities if people DID pay more attention to what was possible in 1.0

I completely agree that when FDev say "Raxxla is in the game" they might simply be talking about the "concept" of Raxxla being in the game - Raxxla was a legend in Elite lore and it's a legend in ED too, therefore it's "in the game" in the same form that it exists in Elite lore.
Given the original nature of Raxxla (as a myth in Elite lore but not existing in-game) it'd certainly provide an elegant irony if it was only "in" ED in exactly the same way.

Alternatively, Raxxla could be "in the game" in the same way that, say, ELWs are "in the game" too.
They're there but we can't interact with them until FDev give us the tools to do so.
There's enough permit-locked areas within the bubble, and within individual systems, that FDev could simply have picked out a location for Raxxla but we don't get to interact with it until they allow it.

Lastly, I hate to make unpleasant accusations but I'm pretty sure there are people who data-mine ED in order to locate new content.
In that case, it's actually a good thing Raxxla has been in the game since 1.0 - assuming it is actually a physical thing within the game.
If Raxxla had been inserted, or changed, after 1.0, I suspect that somebody would have noticed changes to the code and investigated.
The fact this hasn't happened suggests that Raxxla has either been "in the game" in a physical way, unchanged, since 1.0 or that it's only "in the game" as a myth.

If you have to be Elite to find Raxxla, would that be Elite in one category, triple Elite, or triple Elite + Elite in CQC?

The popular concensus is that you'd have to be Elite in combat to gain access to Raxxla because combat was the only measure of "rank" in the Original Elite.

About 20 jumps out from his co-ordinates, lots of non-fuel stars, no commanders in sight. Wonder if he is stuck out here with no fuel, and does not know of the fuel rats.

Something funny already. I had to look up "CMDR FLAVIUS AQUILI".

The only posts in this forum this commander made were the six posts in his Found Raxxla thread. Member since 2016 but no other posts.

Like he joined in 2016 and said nothing until today.

As if it's an alt account. Maybe it's gurus alt account?!
