Real players communicate before combat...

So I'm all dressed from top to bottom in my camo gear just sneaking up on that big Elk. I have the one I want right in my sites, but before I take the shot I put the rifle down, cup my hands around my mouth and holler at the top of my lungs: "Is this alright?"

no, it's not. leave elks alone.

go eat a quiche if you're a real man!

The only toxic players I come across are the anti PvP brigade, want proof? - Here ya go...

Check the text chat of the last player I went after and ONLY went after because of his toxic comments... I get this all too often.

And what? I never said toxicity didnt belong on both sides...stop and think though...what made some of us salty in the first place? I avoid all the salt...from both sides with neither side being better than the other. Or did ye think I was trying to claim it was only pvprs?

I stopped after a minute or so because that music is just dire ^

if you cant defend a surprise attack then go in solo. I don't care if its more boring there but nobody wants you in open if all your going to do is combat log! your part of the problem! never combat log again and either go in solo or always have full pips in shields to give you more time to react but never combat log!

I agree with this sentiment. Some time ago (Around the time of 1.3 release) I was interdicted by a pirate who requested I drop 20 tons of cargo. I offered to drop 10 and not resist him with my a rated cobra and he agreed. I dropped the 10 tons and we both went on our way ready to fight another day. To me this was a pirate with integrity and a certain amount of common sense. He knew he was at risk if he insisted on getting his twenty tons but decided to compromise and settle for the ten. He then stuck to his word and allowed me to go about my business without any further interference. This is how pirates should behave and how piracy should be in the game. Without initial communication, this aspect of gameplay would be absent. Pilots who chose not to communicate can miss so much. Fight, run or bargain, but never combat log!

No comms to me means they want the kill...pirates make demands after all and no comms, in my experience, means gankers out fer lolz. Ye can argue whatever angle ye want because that opinion aint gonna change. Zero comms means only one thing...run or die ^

That's pretty much what I automatically assume too, no comms means they want you dead.

Now if they demand cargo as in actual piracy, Im cool with that...I never clog and never will...and yet thats what they think well do which is why they kill without hesitation...which just proves the point so they are as much a part of the problem than the cloggers are ^

I only fire if I'm fired upon, interdicted or otherwise opposed. I consider any of these to be a form of communication. I don't see the need for opening comms. And there's never an excuse for combat logging on a CMDR. Never.

I don't mind getting attacked by silent loonies too much anymore but I have way more respect for a cmdr who speaks first, doesn't matter what they say, light RP is the best unless they go full pirate which seems to be a rare treat now. Unfortunately things like hotas and VR can make it really awkward for some people to type, they can be forgiven but it would be nice if there was a way to tell if someone actually could speak or reply, a togglable option maybe with a little symbol by their name or something might be useful. If someone asks me for a fight then I'm way more likely to accept and fight til the end without trying to run if it goes sour for myself.
