Real players communicate before combat...

Agree...thats what made open play intolerable before...the sheer hypocrisy of it just meant open was too toxic to play in ^

The only toxic players I come across are the anti PvP brigade, want proof? - Here ya go...

--remove naming and shaming video with plenty of swearing--

Check the text chat of the last player I went after and ONLY went after because of his toxic comments... I get this all too often.

That's a laughable 'proof'.

There are toxic PvP and toxic PvE players, usually on the extreme fringes.

So I'm all dressed from top to bottom in my camo gear just sneaking up on that big Elk. I have the one I want right in my sites, but before I take the shot I put the rifle down, cup my hands around my mouth and holler at the top of my lungs: "Is this alright?"

Ganking = Gang Killing. One CMDR can't do that.

Combat logging is cheating. It should be punished at least as severely as the recent engineering module thing. Clear save on multiple CLs would be very reasonable. If a CMDR disagrees with it, he/she can submit a ticket.

<edit> Quote added </edit>
Ganking can also mean a single much higher level player attacking a lowbie with little or no means of defending themselves,if that situation occurs i'm not entirely sure i'd be against a combat log...for what little my opinion is worth.

Oh yeah and forgot to add, There is NEVER EVER EVER not a jot EVER an excuse to combat log.
what if the game logs you out? or crashes so badly it doesnt even send the usual debug info to frontier - both of those have happened to me. how do you tell thats not combat logging? i wasnt in combat with a player (and i wouldnt be since i play solo only) but my isp suddenly changed my ip address one session. elite doesnt like a dynamic ip address change. it logged me out to main menu with start greyed out and a message IP address changed mid-session down the bottom instead of the server name and numbers stuff. i had to quit the game to desktop and rerun it to log back in. not my fault and nothing i could do about it - but according to you i have no excuse? and client crashing has happened more than once. one time i had to ctrl alt del as i couldnt even alt tab it died so badly. that was only way i could get to desktop or open task manager to kill the game, and then i had to reboot the laptop to be certain nothing else was crashed like the audio drivers. if i had been in combat, according to you, thats combat log and no excuse. im guessing you are on a platform that never crashes and probably the richest man in the universe and probably have supernatural powers. no? because i have seen playstations crasdh, xboxes crash even seen macs crash - which is informative with the standard error message basically number is 1 and that error means 'something went wrong'.

if you cant defend a surprise attack then go in solo. I don't care if its more boring there but nobody wants you in open if all your going to do is combat log! your part of the problem! never combat log again and either go in solo or always have full pips in shields to give you more time to react but never combat log!

I'll just leave this here...

This forum really needs a glossary stickied. :)

too late. this is the etymological definition but by sheer use the term also refers to one high level player killing a low level one.

and in time it will be used for any kill that the victim anyhow deems unfair for whatever reason, and this forum will have made a proud contribution to this semantic evolution.

we will all end up speaking carebearish. resistance is futile.
