Regular Shuttle Service to (Colonia and Back)

What would you do when you get there? None of the shipyards have any good ships and outfitting is even worse. It cost over 300 million to have my python with it's current loadout shipped and took 3.5 real days to get there. After a month, bought a sidewinder, committed suicide and left my Python there. Should I ever go back, it will still be there, maybe a bit dusty, but still there.

I love it out here so much I've transported 50 ships to Colonia.
I mine, transport precious metals, secure trade routes ,hunt criminals who try to steal the precious and reconn pristine rings within 150ly of Colonia all under the name of the Tombstone Mining Company.
I love the fact that I'm doing valuable work to help the frontier and to top it all its very beautiful out here.

Honestly I decided to fly to Colonia some time ago scanning planets and exploring the whole way, and when I got there I was like huh well I'm sick of exploring. Then I looked at the map again and I realized where I was and kind quit the game because I don't have the time or care to play star scooping simulator for the next couple hours.

So you resurrect a year old thread to spout that garbage?

  • Land ship at Jaques.
  • Buy Sidey.
  • Launch Sidey.
  • Self-Destruct Sidey.
  • Choose "New ship in Starter System" option from Rebuy screen.
  • Transfer Previous ship from Colonia to Bubble (if required).

Worse than that - they created an account on here just to necro a thread with wrong info. Why fdev think leaving oldies unlocked was a good idea I have no idea.
OK, but: What info is wrong?
Also regarding "necro": if the topic is unresolved, why should we keep creating new threads for the same thing over and over again just because the conversation died down at one point?

Yeah that's what I do. Still, it's not the same as having your ship with your preferred loadout in the location you want it.

I am pretty much always going to speak against fast travel and long-distance "shuttles" because of the way they are almost certainly going to be implemented. But, if I actually thought it were possible, I would be in favor of a week long or multi-week shuttle between the two bubbles, with stops at each of the obscure waypoint stations along the route. The idea is that it wouldn't be faster (at all), but it would be something you can do passively. Dock at the shuttle, sign off and come back in a couple of weeks, or sign on and explore around the waypoint "stop" until the next jump. And you get to stay in the ship you were already flying.

No. Colonia is supposed to be some far off land that takes a long journey. Making it easy to get there just because you dont feel like flying up there ruins it.

How long is long enough? We're down to less than two hours on the extreme end, and around 5 hours average if you're willing to dedicate a ship to the trek. I'm with you in principle but at this point what's the difference? It's not very hard to get there anymore; it's not an accomplishment the way it once was; it's more of a formality. If the "Ferry" took 48 hours would that be long enough? How's about a week with stops along the way?
