Update (V1.40 Beta 10) released:



Changelog:
- Exchange of export data code to SQL completed.
- Fixes in all panels of the Personal Logbook (too many to list/remember).
- Rework of Notes in Travel Logbook, added a note icon to each entry, that have a note for better view, now "Star System Entry" entries holds the notes of the relevant star system, they can be edited and saved.
- Fixed issues of setting the "Route To" dropbox at the Trade panel.
- Fixed issue of changing the Trade Range to greater distances.
- Fixed saving issue in Trade Logbook.

I've seen 2 new errors after updating to Beta 10.

On startup of TCE I got the following popup. Everything fine after clicking OK. Then I went to the cartography panel and got the same error popup by clicking on a system > Modify Data > Exploration and marked Explored as complete. When I did this I got same popup. TCE UI was unresponsive till I clicked OK on the error popup. Then TCE saved the update and everything worked again.

I can confirm i am getting the same error popup of "Could not find table 'stars' on evey new system entered or every station approched.

Clicking ok seems to cause no issues and TCE continues on as normal until next instance change.

Keep up the good work by the way.

Have got a new error on 1.40 beta 11

Got this popup when entering HIP7396 A, have been there before as was not showing as an unknown system.

Have also had it pop up before that on another system but just clicked ok and carried on my way, was also another system i had visited before.

Same error as post #2592 in beta 11. Just jumped to Heveri. A system I had never been to before. Clicked OK and everything was fine.

Please report, if the "Visited" status was set in the Cartography panel in those systems with the issue.

More fatal errors

Adding new commander in ship logbook causes various fatal errors when pressing Save Commander depending on which data fields are filled in. It always has some fatal error regardless when pressing Save Commander.

First, please check your office installation, if it is up-to-date. Second, please tell me, what errors you having (screenshot).

Jumped to new system that I had never visited before. Got same error. Before jump cartography panel showed Visited = No. After clicking OK to clear error checked Cartography panel and Visited = Yes. Visited is also yes in previous example.

Problem is, if you restart TCE, the "Visited" status is gone, because the export failed.

It is Office Professional Plus 2013 (15.0.4719.1000) 64-bit. Last update was 5/17/2013.

I go to Ship Logbook, press New Commander button. I enter into Commander Name : Testing. I then press the Save Commander button.

Same scenario, same steps, plus define the "Actual Spacecraft" choosing any selection from the picklist. Press Save Commander. The following error is displayed:

Continuing to run it beyond the debugger, it apparently saved the record. Restarting TCE, and returning to the logbook, shows the commander record this time, as entered.
I then went to enter Credit Balance, it only took the first number, and then got another error dialog as follows:

I press OK and continue to enter numbers, but every number yields this error dialog. So If I want to enter 133007223, I get nine error dialog boxes, so it is 1, click OK, 3, click OK, 3, click OK, 0, click OK, etc.
I get this error dialog every time I make a change, such as choosing a different combat rank from the picklist, or trade rank, etc.

Please understand I'm not trying to throw a negative light on anything.
This is an awesome piece of work you have produced here.

Office 2007 , clean install , updated till no more updates show up after a reboot.

i cannot find the 1.04 ref now , it must have been somewhen during instalation. will uninstall/reinstall to try and find it.

also as all are beta x.xx should i just go with the latest ?

Edit : seems 1.12 is more stable , i must have corrupted 1.4. i couldnt find the ref to 1.04 as no uninstall feature i could see - so i just over wrote the 1.4 excel file with updated 1.12 one

Edit 2 : spoke too soon ..... still got random crashing , just took longer to start happening.
is it possible i am missing / have wrong settings of some service in windows ?

Edit 3 : after running TCE when i restart there is 2 things that happen.
first - tce asks if i want to save changes the xmls (i am choseing no)
second there is another shadowed option box that flashes on screen for less than 1/2 a sec as the system shuts down

The setup has the V1.04, i think you meaning this.
There is no uninstall, delete the folder and TCE is gone.
Random crashes? Please make a screenshot and tell me, what you did before.
If Excel ask you to save TCE, press NO as you did. This happend, if you having an error and debug it.

No more Errors

Been away a bit and had to re-format when I got back,
(bad Windows 10 build :( )

Now Running Office 2013 x64 with fully updated Excel and Access,
and without Runtime !!!

All the previously reported error have dissipated with beta12 !!! :)

I can now add, delete and modify notes with impunity from all panels ! :p

Thanks for your report in this case. Lets check the upcomming changelogs, if they reintroduce the info. I will make a note here, if TCE is able to work with the Powerplay beta.

Thank you so much for your energy, you spend on intensive testing and reporting, and to all others too. Without help of you all, we would not be at this point today. Great teamwork.

The work is not over, but it will be less intensive, till we reach the release phase of the ED API.
If i look on my to-do list, there are some more things, that will come, like a Trade Route Planner and the translation into german and french.

I will release a new full-version tomorrow to finalize the beta.
